Depends upon class and skin hue.
 
I drank a little too much, once in a while, and I smoked the occasional doobie when I was a young man in the 1960s.
Weed was never a regular part of my life, but I tried it like everybody else and I didn't dislike it.

I also knew that NO meant NO.

I didn't suffer socially for it in any way.
I don't claim to be Don Juan,
but I did share intimate affections with respectable young college women
without ever forcing myself on anybody.

It was not recreational womanizing.
There was always a measure of actually caring.
In my world of being young, sex was something that one did WITH someone,
NOT TO someone.

I was a professional prizefighter when I was in college,
If I abused anybody, I might still be in prison.
That, however, was never my motivation to respect women.

That motivation came from my breeding and character.
It would be absolutely inconceivable for the son of my father and mother
to be an abusive bully.
