I think it's important to fully accept the fcat that what Barr said was considered racist by most people, and it's equally vital to avoid lumping all conservatives in with her - unless they, too, have made racist statements.

I'll hasten to repeat that Barr's jibe was very ill-considered and any reasonable person should have recognize the racist undertone it undoubtedly contained. She deserves every bit of the professional and financial consequences.
