Of the tens of thousands of liberals I have run across through life, I know of exactly zero who ever said we need a monument to Marx

It was Bill Clinton who signed off on funding for the national memorial to the victims of communism in Washington DC.

That doesn't diminish his campaigns however.

I don't make moral judgements looking back on historical figures using todays metrics, but he work toward reconcilliation as well

Lee didn't write those. You don't know that because you're a programmed moron. He deliberated long and hard about even fighting for the South after being asked, then Union soldiers crossed into Virginia and that made his mind up for him.

Lee had no hand in The Articles of Secession. The main reason he joined the Confederacy at all was because he was a Virginian and the Union invaded.

No he wasnt. He was a dumb tactician. I think the best the South had was Joseph Johnston. The problem with Lee is he knew that the problem the south had was with manpower. Yet he ended up killing as many of his own men in his "victories" as his opponent. This is why he lost to Grant who just kept throwing reserves at him. Johnston though new how to trade space for time and get the maximum value out of every life lost. Remember the south was just playing for time for the Europeans to help and/or the north to get tired of war.

intersting on Johnson, Been awhile but maybe i'll look into it. But Lee was also a strategist as you say
he knew he had to win or hold out. That;s why he was General of the Army of Northern Virginia then
