Finally, intelligent gun regulations

What did it mean to be well regulated?
It's meaning hasn't changed. It means to be well trained and disciplined.
One of the biggest challenges in interpreting a centuries-old document is that the meanings
of words change or diverge.
The meaning hasn't changed.
"Well-regulated in the 18th century tended to be something like well-organized, well-armed,
well-disciplined," says Rakove. "It didn't mean 'regulation' in the sense that we use it now, in
that it's not about the regulatory state. There's been nuance there. It means the militia was
in an effective shape to fight."
The meaning hasn't changed.
In other words, it didn't mean the state was controlling the militia in a certain way, but rather
that the militia was prepared to do its duty.
The State creates the militia. The State trains the militia. The State funds the militia. The State controls the militia. The State disbands the militia.

You're using previous regulations to justify piling on more regulations. That argument is exactly what flipped the NRA from a gun owners club to a political organization in the 1990s.
The NRA has always been a political organization. It has never been otherwise.
It's why gun owners like myself will not give one inch to Democrats on gun regs because, if you give a Democrat an inch, they'll want it all...and eventually take whatever they like.
Yet you support Democrats.

The current EU is similar in many ways to the US prior to the Civil War.
The US never had a civil war.
For one thing, each state wanted to protect their own autonomy
Nothing has changed.
which included their right to raise a militia,
Nothing has changed.
the alternative to a standing army.
Nothing has changed.
Cheaper too.
It can be.
Besides, people fight better when they are protecting their homes than being drafted to fight someone else's war.
True.
As this Congress.gov Second Amendment link notes, the concern was an overreaching Federal government thus "that the federal government should not have any authority at all to disarm the citizenry."
Yet you support those that want to do just that.
The two separate issues covered in the Second Amendment was this right of States to raise a militia and also, what real liberals considered common sense, that all citizens had a right to firearms.
While true, you support those that deny and discard the 2nd amendment.

Domestic oil production fell because people were doing less traveling during the pandemic.
Due to fear mongering by Democrats.
It has already started to increase as travel has picked up again.
But is limited because of Biden.
That reduction began during Trump's term.
TDS. Trump didn't cause it.
He, like Biden, did not mess with production.
Biden DID mess with production. Denial of history.

I never argued with you about having those laws. I corrected your claim that requiring classes for a concealed weapon permit is unconstitutional and that requiring the insurance is unconstitutional.

Requiring classes for a concealed weapon permit is unconstitutional. So is the concealed weapon permit. Requiring the purchase of any product, including insurance for any purpose is unconstitutional.

Nobody wins the presidency by filling up auditoriums. The candidate with the most enthusiastic supporters usually has less of them. Most Americans are middle-of-the road and do not attend rallies. His supporters have to actually vote.

You will never understand the 2020 election as long as you blame the media, mail-in ballots, fraud....

These are claims Trump made based on what he heard from somebody else. All those lies have been proven wrong.

Biden won because there are more Democrats than Republicans and most Americans do not like Trump.

There was no election in 2020.
Attempted proof by inversion.
Attempted hearsay.
You do not get to speak for everyone. You only get to speak for you. Omniscience fallacy.

You look cold, Sybil.

Domestic oil production fell because people were doing less traveling during the pandemic. It has already started to increase as travel has picked up again. That reduction began during Trump's term. He, like Biden, did not mess with production. It dropped because demand fell.

apparently you choose to ignore Biden's bans.....

The REALITY is that if not for the media, Biden wouldn't be President. I know you want to pretend that it's just because everyone hated Trump. But that's a dumb lie.

The funniest argument about the Biden miracle is the one that ignores how Biden wasn't liked much at all and without much of a campaign, got millions more votes than the much more popular Obama. In fact, we had a turnout that far exceeded any previous election. Yet Trump was the one filling venues with enthusiastic crowds and campaigned. Biden couldn't fill a school auditorium.

Mail in voting, which is subject to massive fraud, jurists overturning State elections laws, media lies about Trump and Covid and billionaires funding Democrats are what got Biden elected.

Apparently you don't understand MAIL-IN balloting. The least secure method, not used by any nation, for counting true votes.

These are claims Trump made based on what he heard from somebody else. All those lies have been proven wrong.

Nothing has been proven. The media, the activist jurists and the Democratic Party of the Jackass along with their social media allies have shut down the debate along with efforts to ascertain whether all those surprise last minute ballots were indeed valid.

Read the Book "RIGGED" by Molly Hemmingway to get a better insight to what is being argued.

Biden won because there are more Democrats than Republicans and most Americans do not like Trump.

That's a bullshit claim. There are more Independents, Blue Dog Democrats and Republicans than the shrill partisan constituency of the current Administration. :palm:

”San Jose could set a precedent by requiring gun insurance”

“San Jose may become the first city in the nation to mandate an annual gun owner fee and liability insurance in an effort to curb gun violence.”

“The City Council will take a vote on Tuesday and if passed, San Jose residents who own guns will have to pay a $25 fee per household and purchase gun insurance that specifically covers losses or damages resulting from “any negligent or accidental use of the firearm” in six months, according to the ordinance.”

Amazing it has taken this long, treating guns just as we do vehicles, especially liability requirements, and before the gun nuts begin, every Constitutional right can and is regulated, Second Amendment isn’t any different

this will be ruled unconstitutional at the first court hearing
