"18 U.S. Code § 2381.Treason
U.S. Code

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."


The South had announced it's intention to secede from the Union thus renouncing citizenship meaning they no longer have allegiance to the Union. So sport they did not commit treason.

This is where you embarrass yourself yet again. Having an education would mean you embarrass yourself a lot less. The supreme Court held that secession was only possible if agreed to amongst the states. try and get an education before you make an utter ass of yourself in the future.

I agree you need an education because you are a walking cluster fuck as a historian.

The Union could not prove Jefferson Davis committed treason as secession was not illegal and after four years dropped the charges. So dumb ass learn some history. BTW many historians agree with my position.

It's okay your aversion to education is painfully obvious. The South was largely forgivin its treason in the interests of a more cohesive future. You're drugs and your lack of education are just making you embarrass yourself over again.

No doubt, the states wouldn't agree to secession. Isn't that why they went to war?

You skipped one small point Grumpy!
The CSA was being built on the USA's ,Southern States.No where in history is treason more obvious then what was attempted in the 1860's.
Advice,don't follow South Carolina!
