Get your checkbooks open, Big Oil, we are coming after YOU!

If every share of energy stock was forfeited and sold it wouldn't generate enough money to compensate for the past and continuing damage.
Courts should impose a constructive trust over the whole industry and manage it for the sole purpose of paying victims and fixing the environment
and to transition to renewable energy. But the death by 1,000,000 class action lawsuits or by municipalities will get the ball rolling in that direction.
They will come begging for a global solution to their global problem.

Did you notice I've asked McSlawber twice what petrol he uses in his big truck to be socially responsible that, like most, rarely if ever, puts anything in the back bed and his Prius to "balance" his carbon footprint? And did you notice I still don't get an answer?

You won't either, he's an ocean going hypocrite.

You're a lawyer supposedly. How can damages be assessed when nobody has any idea what the environment would be like without the use of petrol?
Oh and I'm trying to be socially responsible like you. What type of petrol do you recommend I use to drive to work?

I thought annoysus was perceptive enough to realize I block him. I find his passive aggressive, doxing, brand of trolling tedious and basically dull.
I use high test or mid grade. I generally don't even consider using the truck unless it is carrying a load in the bed. As I use it 10% of the distance and the prius
(or other better mileage vehicle I own) 90% and it gets 50MPH, my average MPH is probably a respectable average 45 MPH. Is that bad?

"The Imperial Beach lawsuit sweeps up 37 companies, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, ConocoPhillips and Peabody Energy. Since Imperial Beach and the counties of Marin and San Mateo chose a courtroom showdown, five other cities and counties in California have also sued. Around the country, others have done the same, including New York City and municipalities in Colorado and Washington State. Some of the suits expand the harms of climate change beyond sea level rise to include wildfires, drought and pestilence."

The accusation: It accuses them of knowingly contributing to sea level rise and coastal flooding by producing fossil fuels and ignoring warnings about the consequences.

Good luck with that!

It can't but you must admire the scumbags for their tenacity

Good Luck. Trump is going to pack the court with conservatives. When RBG kicks the bucket, he will pretty much own the thing for the next 30 years. The decision to nominate Hillary will cause the left to #Bern for the next 30 years.

Translation: No way I can counter his arguments. .

Same here. Aren't the companies you purchase them from the same ones you wish in your quixotic pipe dreams were sued successfully? Or are there more socially responsible oil companies you recommend?

I have. He has none. The man is a dolt. A modern day far left liberal that gives rational liberals a bad name. Do as I say, not what I do. "We have save the environment at all costs" until they actually have to do something themselves to make that happen.

Meh, it would have been insulting if you ignored me or said I was average. I read between lines. You know I'm exceptional. Thanks but I already know that.
I bought a Prius, I vote Democrat. I recycle. I don't litter. I pick up others' trash sometimes. I am a member of Greenpeace. I'm doing good things for the ecology right there.

You are definitely exceptionally average.

Yep, I do the mundane care about the panet stuff. World would be better if I observed us all doing even that much though. Like you said, I'm average,
don't expect Atlas.

Exactly. If people practiced what they preached it would help. Problem is too many Preachers, not enough practitioners.

I'll agree with that. If hypocrisy is all you care about. But at least the hypocrites express virtue, you sit with the devil and do Jesus' work, is that what you
are saying? Why do that? Do good works, and I don't doubt you do, AND say the right things. Costs you nothing. A lot of the bozos on the right respect you here because
you are semi literate and drive a boat. Use that for good, not bad.

Actions speak louder than words. Expressing what you might do and not doing it is as useless as tits on a nun. Used for nothing. I do not post here to be respected by anyone Micawber. And, as this is almost a civil discussion, I will ignore your second to last sentence.

His accusation of illiteracy is gravely misplaced. 'Drive' a boat???
Bet he thinks the guy in the cockpit of a plane 'drives' a plane, too.
