I am a realist. I live it. Writing or talking about a starving kid next to you and not giving him any food is, well, useless as tits on nun. Good. I hope they get a gazillion dollar judgement and ban all forms of petrol sale and use in that town before it goes to the S.C. and gets reversed.

It would be good if they were ordered to pay for the construction of renewable energy sources and Traveling Wave Reactors all across the nation, taper way down on extracting, and pay damages to the plaintiffs for sea level rise and the other costs incurred from climate change. But they probably don't have the money for all that.

I will leave it to the courts to decide if some of the Oil companies knew from their own scientists that GHGs were changing the climate, but deceived the pubic about it.

One of the interesting things to me is that - on paper at least - most of the major oil companies recognize that human emissions are putting the planet and it's climate at risk.

The weird thing is that makes these uninspired and stodgy Oil Barons more progressive and more scientifically literate than most right wing posters,and the POTUS, who continue to deny, delay, and downplay, and are on pubic record either denying global warming, or calling it a hoax perpetrated by lying scientists.
