For the sake of discussion let me ask this. Since I've been following politics I've heard liberals call right-wingers corporatists. We (supposedly) put corporatist judges on the bench that rule in favor of businesses over workers/people. We (supposedly) support (big) business over the right of workers, we put profits over people etc. This morning on NPR they had a segment on rules/laws/executive orders the Biden Administration will pass to make it easier for workers to organize, make it easier for workers to get overtime, make it easier for workers at franchisees to sue the franchisors etc. etc.
All that doesn't mean Biden and others on the left can't be corporatists but it's just different to hear them called that. Because for me personally I don't like a lot of what those on the left consider anti-corporatist.

The CCP counts on it and as long as the CCP provides high living standards - they have absolute unquestioned power

The USA has wins against China in the wto but what did we actually win??
China plays by their own rules, if you don't play along there are consequences.
If you do not play by WTO/USA rules there are repercussions for most, but not so much for China..
We have/had economic leverage over most countries, now not so much, & certainly not against CHina.....
[Our weakness is their strength]
The ppl are willing to suffer if told it will benefit the country-MF's here won't even wear a fuckin mask to save their own grandparents........
So, if we lack the sack to back up our threats economically, what leverage, if any, do we have??

We have spent 50 years teaching China that they are special and dont have to stick to the rules, and now they are getting to be powerful enough that they impose the rules the rest of us must live by.

Sadly that could be said about many hired by administrations of both parties & to a degree it is necessary to have ppl in there that know the ropes etc.... As much as we may want, you can just hire an Xuber driver or coal miner to run the treasury etc.......

That was what really pissed me off about Obama when Hope & Change turned to same, as in same O' before he even got in office Geithner, summers~ & no one goes to jail for crashing the world economy..........
