Good Mom with a gun.

Try reading the rules before you report something dumbass.

^So people like this one here don't really have a thoughtful position on this topic, but are so insecure that they have to interject themselves into a debate for the purpose of trying to troll people into responding so that they can then play the victim.

Admit it, that's what you're trying to do.

No, I'm telling you as a mod not to report posts that don't break the rules.

Can't see how that won't work. Just look at drugs. No one can buy those and it's made them totally unavailable.

Really? It's pretty easy.

Step #1 - ban all gun sales
Step #2 - offer cash money for guns
Step #3 - divide families over the quesiton of guns vs. economic security
Step #4 - catch the remaining guns through criminal apprehension, and heirs turning in the guns of their dead relatives

If you offered, say, $2,500 for every handgun and $5,000 for every rifle, I think most gun owners would opt for the cash. Not everyone has principles, but everyone does have a price.

It's just about finding what your price is, or what your family's price is.

you do realize that the cost of that is around 1.2 trillion??????

Nice deflection, wasn't what I asked though. If I can't legally buy cocaine, where does all the cocaine come from?

Well, we spent more than that this past December giving tax cuts to the rich and corporations. So how about we reverse that tax cut, and use it to pay for this stimulus program instead?

And it would be a stimulus program; probably the most successful one ever.

Really? That's what I asked?

You tried to non-sequitur your way to other controlled substances, like an amateur, pointing at the failure of the Drug War as the reason a ban on guns won't work. But you forget a couple things:

1) Drugs were never legal
2) No government is offering or offered a cash-for-drugs exchange
3) The consequences of the Drug War call for a need to reform the criminal justice system, just as gun violence is a call to reform the 2nd Amendment
4) Me smoking pot in California doesn't affect you, but you buying a gun affects me because thieves steal guns from people like you to use in other crimes

You smoking pot puts money in the hands of criminals who would want to steal my guns or other property. So it absolutely affects me in the same way my gun ownership affects you.

Also, drugs were legal. 120ish years ago I could buy all the coke and opium I wanted. So try reading a book, or having one read to you since you don't seem to read that well.

No, you didn't read the source material carefully enough.

That's because you do rushed, sloppy work; which is reflective of your poor work ethic and probably explains your insecurities.

There were 190,000 people who had 230,000 guns stolen from them.

So some people had more than one gun stolen.

Yeesh.

Yet you're not man enough to try and take one when someone offers you a challenge to do so.

Hold on...where's your apology? You were completely wrong about what you said about me with regard to the gun theft numbers. So you just don't talk about it because it makes you look bad, huh?

I don't apologize when I'm not wrong and damn sure don't apologize to cowards like you.
