Hands Up Don't Shoot

Long story short, partner and I respond to a dispute inside a store in a violent neighborhood. Guy standing outside says the guy inside has a gun. We enter with guns drawn and one of the guys is ignoring us and sort of wandering around. Orders to "stop" being made at gunpoint are totally being disregarded.

My partner was getting edgy but I had a better angle on the guy and could see his eyes. So I yell at partner "No!"

Turns out the guy was having some kind of seizure and had been arguing with store owner about using the bathroom.

I run outside to find the idiot who told us the guy had a gun, but of course he was gonzo alonzo.

Had we shot the guy we would have been wrong, and no witness to verify why we thought he had a gun. Totally screwed.

Things aren't always as they seem or as we're told.

That said, I don't understand this shooting either. But let's hear more about it before rushing to judgment.

Cool story, Officer. :good4u:

The state's attorney general's office is now involved, so eventually we will find out if the shooter is an idiot, asshole, or just a bad shot.

Also,
Attorney General Loretta Lynch says the Justice Department is aware of the police shooting in North Miami of a black therapist who was trying to calm an autistic patient in the middle of the street.

Lynch says the department is working with local law enforcement to gather as many facts as possible about what occurred.

She said there's not enough information yet to be able to say whether the Justice Department would open its own civil rights investigation.

But the prudent waits for additional facts before forming a conclusion lol.

How many times do we have to go down this road.

Unlike one poster who always jumps to conclusions, I didn't jump to conclusions, that is why I said strongly indicates. But, yeah, I expect (mostly from the left) for them to immediately convict because this is a political point for them and of course when it goes against them, they always say to wait for more facts.

The Narrative needs a win in the worst way.

This time a north Miami Police Officer shot an unarmed black man lying on the ground with his hands up. In a cellphone video, the black man is seen lying on his back, arms extended and told the police that he was unarmed and that he was a therapist trying to help an autistic patient who had walked away from his group home. He also told the police that the autistic man only had a toy truck and was unarmed. An officer with a long rifle eventually fire three shots. One bullet hit the therapist in the leg. The police then handcuffed the victim and left him bleeding on the pavement for the twenty minutes that it took for an aid car to arrive.

This is terrible; because any time the Police are called about someone with a gun, they should always believe someone when they say there is no gun.
I mean, it's not like anyone ever lies.

This is horrendous, at least this time the cop admits he doesn't know why he shot him. This one will face charges.

It doesn't say that he asked the question to the same Cop that shot him!! :palm:

At least you got your daily cardio out of the way, by jumping to a conclusion.
