Hiroshima, 6 August 1945

Thank you. Phantasmal, Cypress, and that poor thing Owl. Living in a Fantasy World. Oh, and Moon, very compassionate, unless it's Jihad against Israel, then it's 'Death to the Infidels!'.

Show a ' death to the infidels ' post, creepo, or get lost.
Don't take a compass.

Haw, haw.............................haw.

Hello T. A. Gardner,

Sorry, I was actually wrong. It was a Democrat that said it...

Nice try. Very slick the way you tried to tie that to 'The left.'

With the Left, the operative phrase comes from Stalinist Russia. "What's ours is ours. What's yours is negotiable."

So many things wrong with that.

Fallacy #1: OK, first of all, it should be noted that if you find one individual on the left who says something, that doesn't mean the whole left said it, or says it. Complete and dangerous projection.

And more to the point...

Fallacy #2: No, Kennedy didn't say the phrase you're trying to tie to him. He clearly said you can't negotiate with someone who says that phrase. That is a stark difference. I'm a bit surprised you missed something so basic as that.

And somehow, you conflate this into something that 'The left' has embraced?

Yeah, right.

I call BS.

That is not an operative phrase of the left at all.

Any claim of such is total and pure BS.

A far better and more accurate understanding of left-right American politics can be achieved when correct statements are attributed to people, and only those people who actually said it.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

That one really set off the murmur-sphere.

like...

"Oh no. Here we go. It's off to war we go. SOB!"

So pointless.

And look what it became. Another historic American military failure with no clear objective, that we had to pull out of without winning.

How many times do we have to do that before we get the lesson?

After 9/11? Most Americans were screaming to Uncle Sam "Do something!", so he did.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

!!! THANK YOU !!!

Iraq has already gone down in history as one of our biggest blunders. Not just because of the prestige it cost the US, but because it left the Afghan war unfinished thus allowing it to turn into a Forever War.

So obvious.

Takes a 'special mind' to not see it.

Agreed. TBH, I think they saw what they wanted to see was an opportunity to invade and hold Iraq, a nation in a strategic spot to face both Syria and Iran and adjacent to allie Saudi Arabia.

Obviously TPTB didn't think it through very well.

It's all a part of American Exceptionalism.

Only one great nation has ever nuked anybody, right?

No opinions from me.

It was just a very short time before my conception, so nobody asked my opinion.

I may have noticed that we didn't nuke any white Germans, though.

I have frequently wondered if the racial angle has any merit.

On the other hand, we burned some German cities to the ground and incinerated their civilian residents by dropping thousands of tons of chemical incendiaries on them.

The nuke strike on Hiroshima gets all the press. I am not sure being cooked to death in a mass incendiary attack is really much better.

just how were we gong to "finish Afghan?
Afghan was neither denied money, equipment, arms or personnel
It is after all the "graveyard of the empires"

Why would I tell a Soviet asshole military strategy? Especially after they got their asses kicked there? LOL
