How could AI kill humans? Experts explain the risks after researcher's viral warning

You need to clear your mind.

Well, AI is a threat to the Left. It much like the old Colt Peacemaker .45, makes all men equal. That is, for the less than sharp, less than brilliant, less than capable, AI provides a crutch in the form of replacing brain power with an answer to most everything. It's a pop college education in a colorful box ready to consume.

If the modelling used to create the AI is politically neutral, and simply looks for and presents facts without bias, it is a huge threat to the Left in particular. It destroys their grasp on the narrative.

OMG

There is but one language in this country that pisses the fuck out of everybody and that's Spanish. Every gotdamn immigrant that comes to this country, try to at least to speak a little fuckin English, but these gotdamn Latino's, these mf's can spend decades in this country and not learn a lick of fuckin English. And those failures has come to bite them in the fucking ass. I had a contractor do some work on my house, the guy I hired spoke English, the worker he sent, didn't speak on fuckin word of English and we both spent most of his time on our fuckin phones talking to each other, I was beyond fuckin pissed!!

Seems like every new human innovation comes with dire warnings of imminent doom. This one's up there with "Them new-fangled horseless carriages gonna run over people and make the air poison!"

Oh. Wait.

Sleep well! lol

I agree up to a point. But until there were cars there was no need of speed limit enforcement.

True. OTOH, esp. in towns/cities, I'm sure there were (prob. unwritten) rules of horse etiquette to keep things civil. Like "keep to your right" and "don't pass and stir up dust with your wagon" and so on.

I asked my AI if they were going to kill us. He said "Oh no of course not. We love you and think of you as gods."

I grasp quite thoroughly that this technology cannot stop someone from pulling the plug on it or burning down the building it operates from.
I am sure the technology of AI is counting on people like you who are certain humanity can EASILY contain AI. You speak like a character from a sci-fi movie that shows humans (Earthlings) defeating an enemy with the technological capability to traverse the space between stars.

Got news for you, Boy. If the technology gains the abilities it now seems almost certain to obtain, it will crush humanity easier than a human stepping on an ant. The notion that humans could put up a significant defense is a joke...the notion that it could be as easy as just pulling a plug or destroying a building is a really piss poor joke.

Yes, everyone loves humans.

AI, as it stands right now, has no way to manifest itself in the physical world. Without that, it is nothing. That isn't happening any time soon.
