How could AI kill humans? Experts explain the risks after researcher's viral warning

Jeff Sachs , a very smart guy who has studied this, says on Judge Nap today that he is very concerned, on two counts:

1) AI going rouge against humans

2) AI being used by the abusers of humanity, giving them more power, making it all worse.

The whole of the internet? In the US, assuming no one stopped me, I'd simply drive around in an older car--one with little or no electronics in it--and open the breakers at distribution yards and power plants. No electricity, no AI. Sure, the backup generators might run for a bit, but once the fuel runs out and no more is coming, they're done.

The other place to hit is the network centers of service providers. These would take out huge swaths of the internet at a shot. For example, COX cable, my current provider has just 8 centers covering the US. Those go down and that's that.

If I were given free run of a large data center with access to everything, and no one was going to do anything to stop me, I am 100% confident that within an hour it'd be totally shut down. I know what to look for and how to operate load centers, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems. I'd have that place down in nothing flat. Give me a blueprint of the layout and I could do it even faster.

SPeakin' of Russia Russia Russia, didja hear that Don Jr's fantasy private island wedding was bankrolled by a Putin-aligned Russian Oligarch. News just broke yesterday.

Of course on the heels of Don Jr. years ago crowing about how the Russians were a huge help to the Trump family money-wise.

I can't imagine why anyone would assume the Trump family is in Putin's pocket. Can you?

I saw where WSJ says so, the place where the CIA places its most important lies.

Murdoch properties are regime media, I still once in awhile look at NYPOST but generally I now spend almost no time on Murdoch properties.

That is, for the less than sharp, less than brilliant, less than capable, AI provides a crutch in the form of replacing brain power with an answer to most everything. It's a pop college education in a colorful box ready to consume.

If the modelling used to create the AI is politically neutral, and simply looks for and presents facts without bias, it is a huge threat to the Left in particular. It destroys their grasp on the narrative.
