Laws drafted by parliament that do not originate in the Iraqi cabinet are generally struck down as unconstitutional, even if approved by the parliament. Even if a withdrawal bill was passed - and it's possible given the numbers that make up the committees -*it would likely have no legal effect.

Jack isolationism no longer works. the area is an important shipping area, plus much of the oil needed by the industrialized country comes from the ME. So it is our business as it effects us economically not to mention security.

Yes EE. I know you are a War Hawk, love getting involved in far away countries, think killing people is part of 'God's Will', and have no problem pissing away billions of dollars we no longer have. But, besides that ... IT'S A RELIGIOUS WAR. Sticking 'Christians' in between two warring Muslim groups only means they BOTH think you are STUPID. They will both laugh and cheer as you send American Youth into the Meat Grinder.

And we should have never got involved in two world wars, Korea or any of the other conflicts we send troops to. Yes we just hide between our two moats and all will be right with the world and we will all be able to hold hands and sing kumbaya. :laugh::laugh:

Yes, it is. But it is not our job to be either the planet's police force or protector of their capitalist doings. Isn't that why we have things like the UN and NATO, so other ppl can take up the slack to protect their own interests?

NATO doesn't cover the Strait of Hormuz. we did organize a coalition to protect shipping lanes near Iran
