Clearly John Ramsey knew that his daughter was dead; he made no effort to get her back from kidnappers. He knew she was not kidnapped, and therefore was covering up her murder. That makes him a murderer, whether directly or indirectly. And we are not even touching on an older daughter who also ended up dead.
He was even indicted for doing that... But Republican district attorney Mary Lacy was not eager to convict a "pillar of the community", and good friend of hers, so refused to continue with the case.
Ramsey moved to Michigan and ran in the Republican primary for the Michigan House of Representatives in 2004. I guess he wanted to speak out for all white men who murdered their children. He got 24.3% of the vote, but lost to Kevin Elsenheimer.
Elsenheimer(Republican) went on to win the race, serve for 5 years in the Michigan House, and then become a judge. As a judge he denied a restraining order against Christopher Thomas, who had been stalking Samantha Stites for 13 years. Elsenheimer argued that the Republican Thomas(who he knew personally) had the right to follow Stites around screaming threats at her as part of "freedom of speech." Two months later, Thomas kidnapped Stites, put her in a basement, raped and tortured her for days.
Everyone involved with this is white, and except for the victims, Republican. My question is why didn't the Republican prosecutor and the Republican judge not recuse themselves from cases involving close political allies?
