I could care less, in terms of this discussion, about the Republican actions in this case. The Sandinistas were expansionist, violent, revolutionaries bent on taking control of most, or all, of Central America. That is a problem that the US needed to deal with.

What you DO NOT DO, is illegally procure funds by engaging in highly illegal activities, and then wage a covert war in a way that breaks US laws.

When the Reagan gov't did that, it was on them, and no amount of 'but the democrats...' matters in that equation. The actions they took fall 100% on republican heads as almost all NeoCon wars always do.
