So when should he have apologized? Before? lol As for Trump, if you aren't aware of all the lies, personal attacks on non-politicians, misogyny, racism, etc. by now, it's not my job to educate you.

To be perfectly honest, I don't see the big deal, it's more of a tribute. He's not wearing it in any sort of mocking fashion, like the blackface makeup of old. He even did his hands.

I agree, and that goes for any other public figure who once-upon-a-time dressed up as a character of another race other than their own, as in a play. For instance, if a group of Native students were putting on a program depicting Father Baraga and how he spent years with indigenous ppl studying their language and compiling the first dictionary of Ojibwe, I would expect that the person playing Baraga would probably lighten his face/hands as well as wear Catholic priest garb, eh?

I think that lots of people over-react to this sort of thing because of the hateful and deliberately-hostile Nigger Minstrel stuff. People from different areas look different - that's life. The Romans thought we were all Spanish because we have wavy hair: we did come originally from the Basque Country, and a lot of us have wavy hair. So what? If you want to put us on stage, make us a little shorter than average, and give us wavy hair, and who's complaining - but watch games with the accent, which is what happens to get up our specific (quite large!) noses. I doubt Aladdin would have given two hoots for Mr Trudeau's performance!

Nor of anyone complaining about a party costume of an Arabian character from alladin.

Who knew trump boot lickers were such staunch and passionate defenders of Arabic peoples?!

Mocking people for being of Arabian descent is just as bad as mocking people of African descent. Do you think Africans are superior to Arabians?
 
Others have mentioned this but if he did nothing wrong and its faux right wing outrage why did he apologize? Further reading the story it doesn't offend me but in 2019 we hold everything done in the past to today's standards. And in today's standards you need to stay in your lane and Trudeau didn't.

And to Gonzomin's comment that Trudeau is a Canadian and not a Dem, lefty or on your team this Rolling Stone cover would suggest otherwise.
