NATO encroachent in Russian Black Sea waters is a war waiting to happen

Yes, the world order and international treaty cannon subsequent to 1945 did not stop all wars and has not been implemented equitably.

On the flip side, on balance it has prevented world wide conflagrations the world experienced from the 30 years war though the Napoleonic era through 1945.

Under modern international law war is, in fact, illegal. The UN also provides the means by which transgressors may be punished. Like any legal system, however, the shysters of the powerful corrupt justice.

China as well, I believe there was some ruling on the 9 DASH line -other then that -silence of the S China sea territory.

& it continues, it is morphing into a ten dash line & some even say they are claiming an 11 dash line....... Since it's all bull shit why not keep it going since nothing is being done to stop them.. It is all illegal & has no merit period..

Many of those nations that are having their nautical rights raped by China have a long maritime history, CHINA DOES NOT, TO MAKE SUCH A CASE IS A LIE WOVEN FROM WHOLE CLOTH.......

Will it be stopping the ccp rape of it's neighbors & their rights, livelihood etc??

what treaty? all I know is the UN and the Paris Peace Treaties .

The reason is there wasnt any reason to fight another war in Europe and the Marshall Plan and rebuilding Japan took care of reconstruction and then there was Pax Americana

really though what can we do?
they are rich, we have spent ourselves poor and they are pumping zillions of yuan into their military.
Biden is planning to spend zillions on everything EXCEPT the military

Tibet refused to become a UN member state. The UN was powerless.
nothing to do with the UN and the UN can only provide peacekeepers, not oppose a war.
China is still interfering in their religion
the Chinese government abducted the recognized Panchen Lama. Then in November 1995 they selected a different boy, Gyaincain Norbu, using the golden urn lottery system. This decision was immediately denounced by the Dalai Lama.

https://freetibet.org/about/history
In 1950, the newly established Chinese Communist regime decided that Tibet must become a permanent part of the People's Republic of China and launched an invasion.

For China, possessing Tibet gave access to rich natural resources and allowed it to militarise the strategically important border with India. With 40,000 Chinese troops in its sparsely populated country, the Tibetan government - led by the still teenaged Dalai Lama - was forced to recognise China's rule in return for promises to protect Tibet's political system and Tibetan Buddhism.

China failed to keep its promises and ongoing Tibetan resistance came to a head on 10 March 1959. Hundreds of thousands of Tibetans surrounded the Potala Palace in Lhasa fearing that the Dalai Lama was about to be kidnapped or assassinated. The uprising was brutally suppressed and the Dalai Lama was forced to flee into exile.

I am sure you are fully aware who spends more on the military, & by far...

What can be done probably needed to be done 5+ years ago & I think Obama was working on it, but it wasn't a great deal for the USA..

trump dumped it & left it wide open for China- gift wrapped the ASEAN & all SE Asia & south china sea...

IMHO even if we try to lay an umbrella over them/that entire area we would have a little war w/ China & the outcome uncertain @ best...

But more likely w/ their economic ties already cemented to the ass of china they would likely kindly decline any such offer & act w/ what they believe is in their best long term interests w/ their #1 trading partner CCP CHINA.....

There won't be war. A few incidents but no war. War is bad for business and could easily get out of hand.

There is a canon of international law since 1945 which have contributed to a relative sense of stability. UN charter, nuclear non proliferation treaties, nuclear test ban treaties, human rights treaties, arms control treaties.

The fact that for the first time in human history offensive war was declared illegal by international consensus in 1948, and consequences for those in violation were realistically considered, is a landmark advancement for humanity.

The remaining question is how to effectively and equitably enforce those tenets. Iraq and North Korea paid a steep price for violating the U.N. charter. The USA pretty much got away with invading Panama, outside of a symbolic outcry from the international community.

While going into Panama was dicey, invading Iraq in 2003 was worse.

I am now, but am not certain that's a good rule of thumb since the Greeks didn't have enough nukes to destroy themselves.

Everything to do with the UN. The UN decrees that territory cannot be gained by force. Such protection is a fundamental reason for countries to become UN member states. Tibet refused to join- not for political reasons but for spiritual reasons. Too bad that the Chinese didn't respect that.

is that the "Asian Pivot" of Obama? lol

the biggest step would be for Japan to re-militarize as a counter to China
rather then me trying to quote redacts -you can read this about Trumps strategy -basically the same as Obama.

Continuing to Confront China: Trump’s Approach to Maritime Security in East Asia
https://www.globalasia.org/v12no4/f...ity-in-east-asia_peter-a-duttonisaac-b-kardon

the biggest security moves by Trump however didnt rely on unreliable international law -but the bilateral security/trade agreements with Japan, and the littoral states.
But Obama gets credit for selling arms to Hanoi - the problem was he also wanted the TPP which was a disaster in the making

doubt that would stop China from annexation Tibet

It's a damn shame what they've done -I'm a "Tibetan Buddhist" ( there are larger terms but i get them mixed up)
and Tibet has not just lost it's autonomy but way of life, government, and the Dalai Lama is threatening not to reincarnate because of China ( he's in exile in Darmasala, India)

The TPP, which most didn't think was good for the USA....... But I think it should have been given more work~ keeping China out was in everyone's long term interest IMHO...

Not even sure what the "Asian Pivot" was suppose to be or if biden is even playing along as he continues to fuck around in the middle east in shit that isn't our problem..

Let the Arabs, Persians, Israelis, Pushtuns fight their own wars...

I don't think so either..... Another bull shit claim............ There were times in history the Tibetans controlled large swatchs of present day China & hegemonic in many places controlled by Muslims around in what is now western China ~The Uyghurs invited the Han in to help~ (see how that worked out)......... ONLY CHINESES CLAIMS ARE VALID, EVEN IF THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD, no one else has a say, according to them... (Perhaps the Brits can reclaim the USA by ccp rules)

As an example the Manchu conquered many areas they now claim as "Chinese", big problem was the Manchu are not Chinese, the Chinese were conquered just like those other places they claim..

History rewrite by commies & liars
