In so far as it’s not a traditional vaccine but a gene therapy that’s never been implemented on a broad scale—they are most definitely experimental.

Or maybe you can educate us on some of their long term side effects.

The FDA has regulatory processes in place to facilitate the development of COVID-19 vaccines that meet the FDA's rigorous scientific standards.

The vaccines met FDA's rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization.

That's because it WAS rushed into production.

Trump should have gotten it going months sooner but he was more concerned with denying the seriousness of the pandemic in order to keep his poll numbers up than getting a handle on the virus.

Besides, Trump had proven himself to be such an incompetent screw up so many times, nothing he had any involvement in was trustworthy.

It should be as mandatory for the military as any other vaccination and I'm surprised it isn't. Service personnel are required to have certain vaccinations for deployment. If it isn't mandatory, then it will certainly reflect on the enlisted evaluations and fitness reports of Marines who decline without a valid reason for doing so.

A huge caveat is what you mentioned: If it's difficult to get the shot, then most people are inclined to blow it off.

The ingredients, methodology and scientific/biological knowledge used to produce the vaccine have been used in vaccine production in the past and as such, the FDA has every reason to have high confidence in the soundness of the science.

The science behind vaccine production has become pretty standardized over the decades that vaccines have been being produced with the main variant being the virus itself.

Once they isolate the virus and take non-reproducing the part they need to activate the human body's immune system, it's S.O.P. after that.
