Nearly 40% of Marines have declined Covid-19 vaccine

Washington (CNN) Nearly 40% of US Marines are declining Covid-19 vaccinations, according to data provided to CNN on Friday by the service, the first branch to disclose service-wide numbers on acceptance and declination.

As of Thursday, approximately 75,500 Marines have received vaccines, including fully vaccinated and partially vaccinated service men and women. About 48,000 Marines have chosen not to receive vaccines, for a declination rate of 38.9%.
CNN has reached out to the other services for acceptance and declination rates.

The corresponding acceptance rate for vaccinations among Marines -- 61.1% -- is not far off the military estimate of two-thirds, or about 66%.

Another 102,000 Marines have not yet been offered the vaccines. The total number of Marines includes active-duty, reserves and Individual Mobilization Augmentee Marines.

The declination rate at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, one of the prominent Marine Corps bases, was far higher, at 57%, according to another set of data provided to CNN. Of 26,400 Marines who have been offered vaccinations, 15,100 have chosen not to receive them, a number that includes both II Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Installation East -- Camp Lejeune. Another 11,500 active-duty Marines are scheduled to be offered the vaccines.

Take the vaccine dammit!

because he military is racist white wing

And your source of information is.....

Your source lol.

Notice the part where it says the ‘body will build spike examples’—that makes it a gene therapy. IOW, they use mRNA to ‘trick’ the body into making a foreign protein that is an ‘example’ of the Covid spike. Since it approximates the same protein found in the Covid spike—the body produces the antibody for it.

It may be the best thing since sliced bread but the medical bureaucracy and pharmaceuticals have been ‘something less than transparent’ about it. The fact is it’s a NEW kind of treatment that’s not exactly a vaccine, since vaccines used dead or attenuated virus as vaccines.

And since it’s new, it’s impossible to know of any long term effects. Maybe there aren’t and maybe there are. If I was ridiculously healthy young Marine with 8% body fat I would definitely pass on it.

Take the vaccine dammit!

Time to cashier the ones that don't want to take it they're not smart enough to be Marines

Almost no one under the age of 45 should even be allowed to get a covid vaccine....maybe later but right now the Risk/Benefit eval has a clear result.

Hey Einstein.....

Researchers have been studying and working with mRNA vaccines for decades. Interest has grown in these vaccines because they can be developed in a laboratory using readily available materials. This means the process can be standardized and scaled up, making vaccine development faster than traditional methods of making vaccines.

mRNA vaccines have been studied before for flu, Zika, rabies, and cytomegalovirus (CMV). As soon as the necessary information about the virus that causes COVID-19 was available, scientists began designing the mRNA instructions for cells to build the unique spike protein into an mRNA vaccine.

Future mRNA vaccine technology may allow for one vaccine to provide protection for multiple diseases, thus decreasing the number of shots needed for protection against common vaccine-preventable diseases.

Beyond vaccines, cancer research has used mRNA to trigger the immune system to target specific cancer cells.

Lemme guess.... because the above passage comes directly from the CDC, a gub'mint organization, you're going to call it "fake news" or some other such rwnjbs.

Don't bother.

BTW.... 60 Minutes did a segment a few years ago abut a young nursing student from NC who had a brain tumor that would have been fatal had not they used a version of that therapy on her incorporating the polio virus, one of the worst of the worst.

It killed the tumor and completely cured her of cancer.

This is not some dark, shadowy, unknown science.

Yes, they may have only recently begun using it to make virus vaccines, but it has been in use for other purposes for decades.

They were trying to use it in the search for a cancer cure back in the 1940's.

The vaccine should be given to anyone who wants it. We need to reach herd, that is a percentage, not an age. Get as many done as possible as quickly as possible.

Great, they’ve been studying mRNA for years. Who said they haven’t?

When have they ever used them ‘as a vaccine’ on a global scale? And it’s not a conspiracy—it’s a fact they use term ‘vaccine’ loosely; it’s a fact they de-emphasize that it’s impossible to know of long term effects.

That kind of lack of transparency isn’t a good way to instill confidence in the ‘vaccines’.

Pretty funny, military has come a long way, I remember as soon as we were close to finishing basic training they vaccinated us for who knows how many aliments, they came in a shot gun, five or six at a time, and nothing was option, we didn't even know what they were and weren't about to ask

You are forgetting that the right has made getting vaccinated a political, common sense doesn't apply

If people are young and in good health they will almost certainly not get sick, if it is also true that they will not spread or will only slightly spread the bug then them getting a vaccine will not help anyone, and carries the unknown risk of these experimental vaccines. Those who would expect to have many decades of life left are actually in these circumstances acting reckless if they allow themselves to be vaccinated.... they might very much regret doing as the so-called experts told them to do.

We are a year and a half in and yet the experts still dont have a good picture of how SARS-COV2 spreads, because they suck. We need to learn more about what is going on before we allow those under 45 to take these jabs.

Nonssense.

Tell that nonsense to the girl in this video who had her brain tumor destroyed and now lives cancer free using this method with it's "unknown" long term effects....

It's pretty cut and dried.

The kind of gene therapy we're talking about involves using a non-reproductive, genetically engineered version of the virus to stimulate the human body's immune system to do what it was not previously equipped to do.

The virus that is used has the genetic code that allows it to reproduce in the body, removed and replaced with some other neutral chromosome, which renders it sterile, but the immune system still recognizes it as a foreign body and goes to work doing its job.

There is nothing mysterious about it or any supposed long term effects.

There are no long term effects.

Mainly because the vaccine dies out and wears off after awhile.

Long term hasn’t happened yet and the girl is an anecdote and they are administering this on a global scale. That makes it an experiment. Give it five years and if there are no reports of side effects—you can say there are no long term side effects.

That is not true (https://www.wxyz.com/news/coronavir...g-massive-spike-in-covid-19-cases-in-michigan), in fact, since a large percentage of older Americans have gotten the vacine, it is the middle age groups who are catching and spreading the virus today

They do know, as they knew with the Spanish pandemic, that Covid spreads via social contact

Exactly what kind of imaginary long term effects do you think a non-reproductive virus that dies after a few months could or would have on someone?

Give me some examples of what you think could go wrong down the road.

Keeping in mind that the virus or portion of the virus used to make the vaccine has been rendered non-reproductive.

It CANNOT reproduce and spread throughout the body.

So again.... what long term effects are you suggesting could happen?

Wait five years and the world's population will be decimated over preventable reasons

That’s the million dollar question lol. And kind of the point: no one knows.

Btw, it’s not a virus: it’s a segment of genes [mRNA] that codes for a protein that is similar to the protein found in the Covid spike. No one thinks it ‘reproduces’. You’re also conflating the mRNA gene therapy with traditional actual vaccines when you say ‘the virus or portion of virus has been rendered non-reproductive’.

That’s the way they make the vaccines that no one besides anti-vaxers are hesitant about taking.
