Part of the problem with getting people on board is the goalposts are constantly shifting. What is this, Day 350 of Flatten the Curve? They told us we could lose the masks after the vaccinations but then Fauci changed his mind. The man’s mind changes like the weather in March.

Stopping the virus [if that’s even possible] is something we can look at after we get this economy opened up ALL THE WAY. After the ballparks are full, after live music is back, everywhere and all the schools are open.

Then we’ll look at stopping the virus. And oh, and after we get the border under control. We can’t stay Covid obsessed 4-ever. This country does actually have other problems.

OK, everybody wants to get back to normal. But that doesn't mean we can pretend there is no problem with that.

When I visited my kid last weekend, he expressed that they were having similar problems where he's stationed in the Army. They've made it difficult to get the vaccine, and they aren't doing a good job of selling the benefit. He's heard talk that it may become mandatory.

The military will continue to evaluate the situation. If they decide they need everyone in the military vaccinated, to keep military readiness, they will order everyone to get vaccinated. Then you can either be courtmartialed, or get vaccinated.

Remember, it is a crime to make yourself sick in the military.

I would have agreed with you several months ago, but we have more recent information now. With Brazil, most people are getting Covid-19 a second time. Best guess is natural immunity only lasts for five months, but honestly, that is just a guess.

In other words, it will very possibly take years to really understand the contagion of Covid-19 in partially vaccinated populations.

It’s not fair to ask young people to risk putting something in their body which could possibly harm them down the road, for the sake of people who aren’t willing to get vaccinated—but should.

Lets start out with actual history. The Tuskegee Airmen were not infected with Syphilis. The Tuskegee Airmen were Blacks who were trained to be pilots during WWII. They served with honor. I am sure that fewer of them got Syphilis than did their white fellow pilots. They were called the Tuskegee Airmen, because they were trained in Tuskegee.

There was also the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. That also involved the city of Tuskegee, Alabama, and also involved Blacks, but I assure you there was no overlap. The Blacks in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study were sharecroppers, whereas the Blacks in the Tuskegee Airmen were officers in the Army Air Corp. To be an officer in the Army Air Corp, you needed to not have Syphilis for the previous couple of years, and you needed to have a lot more education than the sharecroppers had. The sharecroppers had very little education, which is part of the reason the study was performed on them.

No one was infected with Syphilis in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. They were men who already had it. Or at least those who were not in the control group. Almost half of them did not have it.

The crime of it all was that the Syphilis went untreated for decades that it could be treated. They were not told that they had pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic Syphilis, and were allowed to spread it. The lack of treatment made sense for the first 15 years, because there was no real treatment, but for 25 more years, where an easy treatment was known, they were not treated. Even during the first 15 years, they were allowed to transmit the disease without knowing it, so there was no excuse.

So to repeat, the crime was to allow more transmission of the disease, and the lack of treatment of the disease. It was not forcing the limiting of transmission of the disease, or forcing treatment. You are the one arguing for allowing pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic infected people to spread the disease.
