Nick Sandman getting rich

When people get fired over disagreeing with the BLM narrative, that is silencing.

Haven't heard of that one.

When conservatives get banned or shadowbanned on social media, that is also silencing.

Only if it was a serious violation of ToS.

There are plenty of other conservatives that get temporarily silenced for supposed violations of service terms that continually change or are only applied to conservatives.

Sure sometimes that happens but usually the accounts get restored after reviewing. It doesn't matter what their political views are.

So you don't see a pattern of this being applied to conservatives more than liberals? I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this.

I'm trying to see the pattern that Fox News is claiming is there.

I've been looking and I still see plenty of far right-wing Facebook pages and Twitter accounts.

It's pretty odd to keep banning people when they are keeping the cash flowing in.

Fox actually doesn't talk about it much. Most of this is discussed by the Intellectual Dark Web.

If they don't now, they used to.

And yes I know about the Dark Web. Plenty of Wikileaks and conspiracy theories.

Well, the majority of people who talk about it are center left or center right. Dave Rubin is not someone on the far right, for example. Neither is Tim Pool.

Sure, I can agree with that, and for the time being, the majority has not voiced support for providing healthcare to illegals. By your own admission, the system is working as intended.

It doesn't matter what any supposed majority "voices", whatever that means.... social media, talk radio... ?

The only "voice" that counts is the one they speak with in the voting booth. If health care is currently being supplied to "illegals", then it is because the officials who were ELECTED are allowing it.

If the majority disapprove of it that badly, they will vote those officials out in favor of others who will put a stop to it.

I wasn't specifically talking about coercion regarding taxes, but that is another discussion. I was talking about forcing someone to perform a service without pay. It's actually close to slavery when you look at it more seriously.

I doubt anybody is being forced to provide medical services without pay. I'm fairly certain health care providers who provide these people with health care are doing so voluntarily out of a sense of honor and duty and are either being reimbursed or funded through federal grants, etc.

The Hippocratic Oath does play a part in forcing a healthcare worker to provide certain services, but they are minimal in nature. For example, someone who goes to the ER without insurance will get enough care to keep them alive, but it won't necessarily be the full extent of care they would receive with insurance. It clearly does not require them to provide routine care, because you will be turned away from a clinic if you don't have insurance. The nurses and doctors at those places do not lose their licenses for that.

Depends on what you call routine care. Vaccinations, treating minor injuries, rashes, colds, etc, etc is what I would call routine care which I'm confident most undocumented immigrants can find at low cost community health clinics that will provide them with it for free or at a minimal cost.

And to get back to the original thing I mentioned, the healthcare for illegals pledge was not limited to emergency care. They were talking about everything from emergency care to routine care.

Well, some routine care is necessary to maintain an adequate level of health. But nobody is giving away free boob jobs or cosmetic surgery or free chemotherapy to treat cancer or surgical removal of hemorrhoids. I'm sure there is a common sense limit to what kind of care that is given for free.

General health services are provided at community based clinics and emergency care at hospital ER's where nobody can be turned away.

Again, I have no disagreement with what you're saying here, but again, the majority has shown that they are not interested in providing care for illegals.

What majority? How have they not shown this?

If the elected officials giving it the go ahead are still in office, that must mean a majority of voters agree with what they're doing.

The only places giving illegals medical service for free (outside of ERs) are certain sanctuary cities. I was talking about national policies. The candidates I referenced were wanting to apply this federally. I guess if Biden gets elected, then maybe the majority would be expressing support for this idea, but if he doesn't get elected, then clearly the national sentiment will remain against this idea.

Or just putting the cost on those of us who do pay. Granted, this is happening already when citizens without insurance get care.

Currently, yes. If the feds get involved, common sense usually goes out the window.

General health services are provided at community based clinics and emergency care at hospital ER's where nobody can be turned away.

That's how it currently works. If a federal policy is passed regarding this, that will likely expand into clinics.

My goodness, such naïveté lol.

Elected officials in congress are so good at doing what voters want them to, that their poll numbers stay in the tank. Deep in the tank.

Currently at 25% approval according to Statista.

Not true.

The city I live in is not a sanctuary city and we have several federally funded, low cost health care clinics that provide medical and dental care to the homeless, the poor and the uninsured at minimal cost or no cost for those who have nothing.

https://obfh.org/

The cost for an office visit is $10. One can go there and get treatment for a variety of chronic ailments, physical examinations, etc.

Dental care includes procedures like tooth extractions, fillings etc, and if I'm not mistaken, even low cost dentures.

They also offer vision care, they have a pharmacy and they even offer behavioral care.

The organization is overseen by a board of health professionals, operating under the license, direction and supervision of one or more MD's with the actual hands on care being provided by "nurse practioners" (APRN's) who hold Master's degrees in nursing - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurse_practitioner .

These kinds of free/low cost/sliding scale/pay what you can afford health centers are available in pretty much every metropolitan, some suburban and rural communities across the county...

https://bphc.hrsa.gov/about/index.html

https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/

They provide health care for anyone who walks through the door regardless of citizenship status (they don't ask) or ability to pay.

They don't turn anyone away and the providers are not coerced into giving away services without getting paid for it.

Or just putting the cost on those of us who do pay. Granted, this is happening already when citizens without insurance get care.

So? All kinds of things put their cost on to others. Churches get away scot-free on income taxes while the rest of us have to pay their share. People who don't drive have to pay taxes that maintain the nation's roads and highways. People who don't fly have to pay taxes that go to maintain the nations air traffic control system. People who don't commit crimes have to pay taxes for law enforcement to catch and arrest people who do, then to provide public defenders in courts which we also pay for and then to incarcerate them in prisons.

The point being... everyone has to chip in for everything that promotes the common good.

Anyone who can't abide by that, is free to go out and become a billionaire then buy their own island to live on.

Currently, yes. If the feds get involved, common sense usually goes out the window.

And you don't think that is true of private corporations?

Nonsense.

What you really should be saying is "If PEOPLE get involved, common sense usually goes out the window."

Private industry is just as big, if not a bigger bunch of screw ups as the feds or any other government entity. Corporations can just cover it up and deny it easier.

The idea that only government is incompetent is a conservative myth probably started by Ronald Reagan or some other genius and perpetuated by right-wing media blowhards like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.

That's how it currently works. If a federal policy is passed regarding this, that will likely expand into clinics.

It already has. See above.

Unfortunately, the Rasmussen link wants me to sign up and pay a fee to see the rest of that article, so I cannot see any details or exactly which programs they are referring to.
