The article was supporting black ownership and saying it's growing. I'm saying change comes from black ownership. So what's the disconnect?

Reagansghost started a thread yesterday about the evils of offshoring and democrats don't offshore jobs. If that's true then I guess Nike is run by a bunch of republicans.

But I think your point about ownership and equity is an excellent one. I have two friends I grew up with in Oakland, real cool cats, and they would call themselves militant. They are all about black power and ownership. They refuse to bank with white banks, want to start a black owned sports league etc.

Instead of Nike being the vehicle why not a black owned shoe company? That's real equity and ownership. The black community has a lot of spending power. Throw in the woke whites, Hispanics and Asians and the money is going to black folks instead of all the white people who run Nike and the largely white shareholders. Right now Kaep gets money and Nike donates a pittance to some communities.

If Kaep is protesting economic injustice well change comes from ownership. It's not coming from a bunch of people buying Nike.

Against Blacks.

I said why have Nike be the vehicle which enriches mostly white folks when there's an opportunity for black ownership in this space. That's what entrepreneurship is all about. Finding opportunities.

Blacks own business, there are Black entrepreneur like Oprah and Tyler Perry, Bey and Jay, who have billions, but Blacks are still being murdered and brutalized by kops.

What are republicans doing about that?

kapernicks problem is he chose our flag to $hit on to try and make his point.
And then as if that wasn't stupid enough he wore cartoon socks with pictures of police depicted as pigs.

he lost his career, he lost his message, he lost his identity.

If his supporters really cared about the "cause" they would focus their efforts to the problem, not his detractors

What did democrats do for the last eight years? Nobody is doing anything. The whole system is out of control. I'm on your side against the abusive police. We have to find a legal way to change the system. Starts with getting rid of immunity for cops and making them get liability insurance instead of the public picking up the tab or we could take the settlement funds out of the union funds. something has to change and blaming sides is not helping. Let's find a solution. It's clear the police are as corrupt as they can get away with. We need a legal path outlined that we can follow. Protesting is part of that process, but we need the laws to change. I wish I had the answers for how we're going to do this. I listed the best ideas I could come up with. If a cop has too many incidents that his insurance has to pay out on, he becomes a risk and they raise his rates. Soon thuggish cops are actually penalized for killing people and eventually they can't afford to be cops anymore and it comes down to statistics they can't fight with a union.
