Didn't that wall divide the city of Berlin in the same country?
Building a wall on our borders to protect us from invading illegals
is in no way even remotely close to why the Berlin wall was torn
down. Your argument holds as much water as a bucket full of holes.

Berlin was actually 150 miles from the West German border, with one railway line and one road. I went for a job interview there in 1986 and the BA aircraft changed crew at Frankfurt and had to descend to 9000 ft when crossing the border. The approach into Tegel was also pretty hairy as the plane had to do a 180 degree turn to line up for landing, it gave you a great view of the city though.

It was a real departure from typical Rump.

He called for compromise, he begged for a break on the Russia Investigation, he barely bragged, and he truncated his usual wall shit.

I think he learned a lesson from the shutdown.
