Nope. You can't have a variant of a variant. Any mutation is a completely new variant. It no longer has anything to do with covid19.
Covid19 hasn't gone anywhere. It's still in the air and on every surface.

A mutation does not spread worldwide in a single week. NO virus is supersonic. Mutations don't occur by calendar week each year.
