Oz vs. Fetterman (Lurch) debate

You having trouble understanding the bolded words "But does a stroke always cause permanent damage? The simple answer is no..."?

Your argument is supposition. Every person who strokes doesn't recover at the same rate.

I didn't challenge that position. What I said, is in cases of serious stroke, like Fetterman's, you don't reverse or get around such damage in a mere matter of a few months. Corrections take years, even decades, to do and even then the results may not return the person to their pre-stroke abilities.

You are arguing that Fetterman, even as he clearly shows serious issues in his cognitive abilities, will or could be just fine in a matter of a few more months to be a Senator making serious and major decisions for the entire nation. Ain't happening. Fetterman's brain is fucked up like a soup sandwich and it won't be right come January. Electing someone with serious mental / cognitive issues to the Senate is as insane as the person you want elected is incompetent--which is completely.

You're disgusting. Tammy Duckworth is in Congess doing a great job despite losing her legs and some use of an arm. Should she retire because she can't walk into the chamber to vote?

You of all people should have more empathy for people with physical or emotional challenges, given what you've told us about your wife.
Duckworth doesn't have a brain injury . The job of being a Senator requires a fit brain not a fit body.

You should have been a politician. You don't show the compassion that a real doctor needs.
Sometimes you have to be a realist with patients. The compassionate thing is to send them both home so they can devote their full time to recovery. Fetterman going to the senate would be like returning a football player to the field before he has recovered from that ACL surgery.

OIC. An internet genius. Guess Fetterman has you beat with two Masters to your one.

Not at all. It isn't the degrees that count so much as the ability and knowledge you have from them. Fetterman is clearly an intellectual midget, or he wouldn't have such an unimpressive resume mostly padded with volunteer work and failures.

Are conservatives who have said for years that Biden has dementia - a progressive disease that after years would mean that he wouldn't even recognize a single person in his life by this point - really taking others to task for having medical opinions?

The compassionate thing would be to take into account that Fetterman isn't a polished TV host like the Slickster; he's just a guy running and hoping to win his campaign. Even you should know that this format isn't the same as being on the trail and relating to people in person.

Addendum: I'll give you an example of what I mean. I studied industrial engineering. At one point I was running a shop making stuff for the Navy in general. I weaseled my way into getting assigned the entire first run of production (400 units) of the ADU-801E SLAM-ER adapter bracket for the entire DoD across all services. It included an interservice agreement with the USAF to do some of the parts manufacturing in exchange for services they couldn't get done on their end.
It was under the very indirect supervision of a Commander, Lt. Colonel, and GS-15 from the branches involved, but I was the guy responsible for getting everything done, a supposedly lowly E-7.

The best achievement in that program was I redesigned one part with a rubber pad on it by changing the material and process to one that was better than the original engineers had selected. That changed the cost and time of manufacture from nearly $500 a part to $20, and the labor time from 8 hours with 50% expected rework to 10 minutes with zero rework. It saved the military approximately $500,000 on its own.

Fetterman has nothing close to that on his fucking resume...
