That's where you are 100% wrong, stupid.
Your recent "information meme" lol, shows what merely
"CAN" happen IF there are tariffs added or decreases to Canadian oil shipments, but your meme implied that oil prices
WERE ALREADY AFFECTED by the trade war, and they simply were not. Not even by 1%.
Look at your meme again: it says
"can drive gas prices higher" you fuckin retard. That's not the same as your first meme, which blames the trade war for "the current price of gas".
Your meme is conflating "could happen" with "is already happening".
And FYI, Trump seizing access to all that Venezuelan oil right before this war is an example of him playing chess while you're fumbling over your toy checkers board... He cut off a major supply of cheap oil to China, gained access to that oil for the US, and now there's a war in Iran choking off another oil supplies to China from the gulf, while Ukrainian drones are hitting Russian oil refineries....
Net result of Trump's wars:
- US supply of cheap oil from Venezuela is way up
- China's oil supply is way down from Venezuela
- China's oil supply is way down from Iran
China's oil supply is also down from Russia from the long-standing Ukraine war.
And there are reasons why the Canadian oil supply changes
won't happen which are just beyond your ken. For starters:
- The oil mainly comes from the province of Alberta, and the Canadian gov't (Liberal Party) has been at war against the oil and gas sector in Alberta for over a decade, costing them nearly half a trillion dollars, so Alberta (Conservative Party, Danielle Smith) isn't answering any calls by Carney and Ford to use oil as a weapon in the trade war with the US, which is mainly affecting Ontario (assholes). It will be a frosty Friday before Alberta sticks their neck out like that for Ontario or the Liberal Party of Canada, at a time when the US suddenly has access to so much Venezuelan oil. You will not know this as an American, but Alberta is not a safe space for the Canadian PM, despite the fact that he was fejected there. There is a strong separatist movement in Alberta, and Carney is a very big part of that.
- The US is in a fukn war right now, and a steady, safe oil supply is a massive strategic resource for fighting wars (the main reason for the Africa campaign in WWII was because of oil), so if you think that Canada can turn the taps to the US off right now then you're in fuckin' lala-land. That's a whole different level of F-U from Canada that the US can not and will not tolerate, because it's akin to siding with Iran directly. You might be stupid enough to think that Canada can screw the US like that, but I can assure you, that's a red line that we dare not cross.
