Basically he says we as black people need to do what other minority groups do but he never really says a lot more than that. You’re right, there are different cultures and experiences.
My friend was born and raised in East Oakland. I’ve mentioned before when my family moved to Oakland in 1981 it was about 50% black. Today it’s 25%. My friend has posted multiple times on Facebook that black shouldn’t be moving out of Oakland saying it was their cultural hub. (Black) people who had moved out of Oakland responded to him saying why they moved and he was wrong.
So not everyone shares his opinion and is one of multiple reasons why his vision of black separatism isn’t going to happen.
I guess he is still living there??
IMHO ppl can & still do visit & pay homage to Oakland & "The Bay" in general, eventhough they are now out here in the burbs..
Many of my neighbors are from there, some even still commute to work there.
American move around a lot, always have..
I agree w/ moving out here for opportunities as well as home prices.
You can sell that old 90 year tiny home & move out here & buy two or three brand new homes 4 X bigger & still rest a couple hundred thousand in the bank..
I agree, it is unlikely to happen as not even him is interested enough to get started on it..
