I agree. Sadly though in today's uber-polarized political climate, the mere *mention* of banning certain types of firearms, making background checks more stringent, and so on triggers instant screams of "confiscation! 2nd amendment rights! Cold dead hands, not prying out of!" and so on. Pavlov's dogs.... the NRA has got 'em trained.

The NRA trains many gun owners, including law enforcement, in the safe and responsible use of firearms. We do, however, scoff at shooting pineapples out of hatred...
