Sailors on USS Lincoln outside Iran are exhausted and suffering from poor morale on ship, families warn

Maybe he's a "trans-Hebrew"; an old white guy who "identifies" as a black Jew. He may even believe it.

Trump addressed the ship today. In his typical lying fashion, He said there are no complaints or problems. Then ended by saying the ship is on its way out. Then added, or it should be very soon.

Trump dismisses concerns about USS Abraham Lincoln, says record-setting deployment is ‘not nearly long enough’ {WTF!}

What a piece of shit he is?!!:poop:

President Trump on Friday dismissed the concerns from family members of the crew aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln amid reports of deteriorating conditions, low morale and attempts by some crew to jump overboard during the ship's record-setting deployment to the Middle East.

When asked by a reporter whether the ship's 9-month deployment had gone on too long, the president replied that it was "not nearly long enough"

Trump appeared to confirm reports that the U.S. Navy is sending a new aircraft carrier to relieve the Lincoln, which has been involved in the U.S. military's operations against Iran since the war first began.

"That ship is moving right now, or very shortly, and it's being replaced with another very similar ship," he said.

When told by the same reporter that families of service members were concerned about conditions on board the USS Lincoln, Trump replied, "No, they're not."

Earlier this week, a group of Senate Democrats sent a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao demanding answers about conditions onboard the Lincoln and its crew of roughly 5,000 sailors and Marines.

"The men and women aboard the Lincoln have answered the call to serve their country. The Department owes them not only adequate supplies, maintenance, and support during this deployment, but a sustainable force-generation model that does not rely on repeatedly extending sailors and ships to meet persistent operational demands," Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat from Connecticut and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, wrote in the letter.

On Thursday, Hegseth said reports of inadequate conditions on the Lincoln have been "completely misrepresented," but didn't directly refute claims about supply shortages on the ship, including inadequate food and contaminated water.

It will be many weeks before they are home, and Trump was actually worse than that.....he mocked the complaints of the crew. I strongly suspect that the crew has been ordered to shut up, and to not talk about the problems when they get home OR ELSE!!.....I hope some disobey......leadership has shown callous disregard for their wellbeing.

The group that really suffers from prolonged sea periods on a carrier are the flight deck crew.
I have heard being stuck below deck, barely seeing the sun for months, is the hardest part. It is not dangerous like being on the flight deck, but it is depressing with a high suicide rate.

I guess in the end it is debatable. Either way, the human body is not made to work long hours every day for two years without any breaks. Hegseth is crazy to even suggest such a thing.

Is that so, Nerdsperg?

Have you?

It is not dangerous like being on the flight deck, but it is depressing with a high suicide rate.

Is that so?

I guess in the end it is debatable.

Do you?

Either way, the human body is not made to work long hours every day for two years without any breaks.

Who told you that?

Hegseth is crazy to even suggest such a thing.

Is he?

Also to be noted is that the Obama changes to the reserves provided for non-citizens to be used as reservists.
Noncitizens have always been allowed to join the reserves, and even the active military. This has been true since the beginning of this nation, and at no time has not been true. Noncitizens were even drafted into the military. Bush pushed hard for more noncitizens, and he was BEFORE Obama.

Are you sure you were in the military? Everyone I know who was in the military knows that you do not need citizenship to join.

Closticphobia, breathing in tight quarters, I literally had panic attacks
I was going to serve in the nuclear navy, aboard a nuclear sub. They setup a tour of a nuclear sub for me, and I had a full on panic attack. I was a big athlete and it was small. I realized there was no way I would spend months on a sub underwater, so I joined the Air Force instead. Both offered free bachelor and masters degree while serving with a 20 year commitment, but only some of it active.

who supposedly "served" in Vietnam has conveniently forgotten who was spitting on military when they came home
No one, that is a story from the late 1970's. No one told that story during the Vietnam War, and it did not happen. Only an idiot would spit on an young strong active serviceman. You would get your ass kicked.

Real people who served during the Vietnam War know it is a lie.
