The report shows Manafort was directly communicating with Kilimnik, a Russian agents. The Repubs were not just getting help from Russia but directed it. It says the Russian help was substantial. Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if an unspoken reason Republican senators released this report now is if they cling to a faint hope that all of Trump's collective malfeasance and incompetence will reach a tipping point of forcing him out of the picture, and elevating Pence to be the GOP 2020 prez candidate. Pure speculation and probably highly unlikely
