Oh, hi
I don't know how Jarod lied. trump mentioned getting rid of NAFTA in 12, 14, 17 and 18.
And what would happen BEFORE that?

Ronald Ragan conceived NAFTA. His vision was finally realized in the 90s. The fact is that NAFTA Is a net jobs gain for the United States. Rump used Americans ignorance about NAFTA as a campaign rally cry, now he's weaseled his way out for filling the promise you made. You are so duped.

The clear economic winner in NAFTA is Mexico. Their economy grew by a factor of 7 since NAFTA was enacted. Now because of the bilateral nature of that growth Mexico is probably in a stronger position to negotiate trade than what most Americans are probably willing to believe.Ronald Ragan conceived NAFTA. Trump sez he wants to "renegotiate NAFTA" - which will happen.
If it doesn't (according to Spicer) then the US would pull out

Except he won't. Not unless he wants to commit political suicide. He can get away with that to a large extent with Canada as trade with them is small potatoes compared to Mexico. Trump can negotiate specific concessions with Mexico too but he can only go so far and Mexico will walk away from negotiations. What Trump won't do is walk away from NAFTA unilaterally.he said he wont leave nafta "for right now"
it's called negotiation you retard. be prepared to walk away. They will give him a good deal or he walks, and they know it.
He can try but such a unilateral move would hurt our economy. It would certainly hurt farmers and manufacturing as Mexico is our largest export market. If Trump tries to do that the blow back will be huge and it's not like Mexico doesn't have other options.
So anyone who believes Trump will unilaterally pull out of NAFTA isn't aware of the facts and are too wrapped up in his cult of personality. Trump wants to negotiate and do so from a position of strength and he can do so...with Canada. Mexico has grown far stronger and is the far larger trade partner. Trump can negotiate from a position of strength with Mexico but can only go so far before Mexico #1. Mexico walks away and finds other trade partners or #2. Trump cuts his nose off to spite his face.
No amount of uneducated white guys with testosterone poisoning thumping their chests will change that either.
Undoubtedly Trump is a sociopath but a good many in positions of power are as well. I am pretty sure both the Clintons are as well.Tony Schwartz, the guy who wrote Art of the Deal, would rename the book "The Sociopath".

Define enough? We are in a position of strength to negotiate some concession in our favor. If you think we are in a position where we can completely dictate terms to Mexico...then your insane. Mexico certainly wants beneficially mutual trade relations with the US but they are not about to throw out the baby with the bath water or let the U.S. walk all over Mexican sovereignty. That's simply not going to happen.they are in a stronger position than they were before but not strong enough.
That's pie in the sky, hand in the sand, la-la land thinking and not fact based. We export shit loads of food, agricultural products, OEM, chemicals, plastics, materials, and finished consumer goods to the Mexican Market. I mean this notion that we only sell them brake pads so they can assemble the Ford Focus and sell them back to the U.S. is laughable.the only reason mexico is an "export" market is that we send production parts there for assembly. If we assembled it here we wouldnt need to export to them.
Which means more barriers to trade resulting in less trade.people have this strange idea that stepping out of NAFTA means stepping out of trade......we had trade before NAFTA....we can have trade after NAFTA.......it just means there will have to be more negotiation between individual parties because the parties can't rely on uniform terms negotiated by the governments......

Which is, again, a cut your nose off to spite your face attitude. Now Trump may espouse that rhetoric but when it comes to doing business I bet his actions will differ significantly from his political rhetoric.we shall see then if we can find another market for those goods and if the mexicans can find another market for theirs.
Interesting how Jarod hasn't returned to this thread after it being showed he lied with his OP.
