So the statues are down. The maple syrup and long grain rice is race free

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," . "I mean, that's a storybook, man." ....KKK leader in 2007

WHOOPS that statement came from Joe Biden

Um, okay.

I mean, that's the 1st thing you thought of w/ that post? It actually reinforces what I said. The idea that we're all so "different" in ingrained in us; it's not exclusive to party.

I don’t agree with that at all lol.

Robert Byrd was a Democrat. The KKK has strong historical ties to the Democrat party. It’s hard to believe that all 5,000 went republican. It’s more likely they’d like to bring the Democrat party back to its roots.

Trump, at best, is a ‘mixed bag’ for the KKK. For one, Trump is a ‘Jew lover’ with at least one Jew in his family. That’s a big deal breaker for any Klansman. Trump boasts way too much about the ‘black man’s’ record employment numbers. Or well, he was, before Fauci got ahold of the economy.

Granted, they would be on board with controlling the borders—but that’s a common sense thing. Only idiots want open borders.

That's incredibly thin evidence for Trump being a "mixed bag" to the KKK.

He dog whistles to those groups all the time. He's the best President they've had in the modern era.

It's a different world today than the one you grew up in Frank. In certain black circles Joe Biden is a white supremacist. Why? His voting history, racial rhetoric and especially writing the '94 crime bill which put 100K police officers on the street and spent $10 billion on prisons. To them that supported and reinforced white supremacy in America.

To be a woke progressive white liberal today you have to acknowledge your own racism (think the book White Fragility). You are a racist. I'm sure you probably don't think of yourself as one or think of yourself as supporting white supremacy but the chances are high you have (if you buy this way of thinking). So saying you are a Democrat does not free you of supporting white supremacy.

I would no more become a Democrat than I would a Republican. But I would vote Democratic Party over Republican Party for national offices EVERY TIME. The Republicans are pawns of the white supremacists.

They have no party. They have no political power. And like the Democrats, they are pissed that Trump killed Solemani. Some do vote democrat because they hate the Jews, and they want welfare and food stamps.

The Dem Media told them that Trump was a skinhead neo nazi. It took them a while to figure out the Dem Media was lying. They are slow like that.

Richard Spencer is now Joy Behar's BFF.

The KKK would support Trump over anyone but a former Grand Dragon...or whatever they call themselves.

That obvious truth seems to bother you.

Thank the gods for that. If you did, I would have been very disappointed.

Yes, we have been through this innumerable times. But the ignorant, racist, assholes of the American right just cannot process it.

The Democratic Party was the home of the racists, white supremacists, and KKK from the time of Civil War days until the mid 60's. At that point, the racists scum, the white supremacist scum and the KKK scum saw that the Democratic Party had grown up and abandoned them...and they turned to the Republican Party who welcomed them and championed their racial hatred.

Get it?

Wake up. The KKK people would lick Trump's ass. None of them will ever vote for a Democrat these days.

Granted, they would be on board with controlling the borders—but that’s a common sense thing. Only idiots want open borders.

You are an American conservative...so you should know what idiots want.

I'll defer to you on that.

Hope you and yours are staying safe, Darth.

:dunno:

There is not a KKK member or White supremacist who would vote for Biden over Trump...and it is almost certain that every one of them WILL vote for Trump.

The fact that Newsweek actually has to talk about Trump "losing" support from White Nationalists (as headline news)...tells it all.

Newsweek and most sane, intelligent people realize that the white nationalist, white supremacists, KKK and all that lot...are firmly in the Republican camp.

The Republicans have their backs!

WV is safer than a lot of places these days, Frank lol.

Speaking of WV, this place should be crawling with white supremacists [if you want to go by the stereotype] but guess what? It’s was a solidly Democrat state until recently. Still is, in many counties. WV was solid Democrat for way long after the supposed white supremacist flight from the Democrat party.

Who have all these WV white supremacists been voting for all those years—if not Democrats?

Democrats lost WV because Democrats loathe coal and they loathe the working class. Race or racial issues had nothing to do with it. If Democrats want to convince themselves that white supremacists are pulling Trump’s strings or that Trump couldn’t win without them...

Go for it. Just be prepared to lose, again.

To me, it's about breaking down those things that perpetuate the idea that we're "different" somehow, and that minorities are an "other."

Those perceptions feed the inequality of treatment. It's a pretty holistic thing.

well the thing is we are different, there is nothing wrong with being different is there?

there is really nothing wrong with segregating is there?

I mean at the end of the day we are drawn to people who are like us and have similar interests aren't we? Could be sports? Opera? Art? Music? Color of the skin? Church?

We gravitate to people with whom we have shared interests. Only leftists think that there is something wrong with that.

But back to the statues, do you really believe that someone looked at a box of Uncle Ben's rice and thought to themselves "yeah, those negroes are right where I want em"?

Do you really think people look at statues and think "yeah we really showed those coloreds"

Personally, I don't care about the statues one way or the other than the means with which it is being done. This is no different than the Taliban or some totalitarian state taking over. Now of course you won't see it that way because you are down with the cause, but rest assured if the roles were reversed and say some white group was tearing down street signs of MLK, I don't think you would be too pleased. I mean after all it is just a street sign right?

But, I get it, for leftists it is always symbolism over substance. Maybe you can tell us when the plight of the colored is going to improve if this isn't going to do it

Wow - a lot of speculative extrapolating there.

Who says that every white supremacist in the state didn't vote Republican? No one is saying that supremacists are a majority of the voting bloc in any state.

What baseless conjecture.

You consider skin color to be an "interest?"

You just said that, twice.

probably should have used the word experience, if you want to nitpick that is your prerogative, but it doesn't change the larger point does it?

You have admitted that all of this rioting, tearing down of statues and changing labeling of pancake syrup and rice isn't going to substantively improve the lives of blacks. Really nothing you democrats do improves the lives of blacks because if you ever really solve the problem then they may not vote for you. So you have to keep them in a permanent state of grievance.

I mean race relations are so horrible in this country blacks have to make up hate crimes, like Jussie Smollet. And you know there are more so don't try to nitpick my choice.

The 2nd paragraph is a stretch. We're going through a transformative moment right now, both good & bad.

But ultimately, it will lead to change. For a quick recap: what happened is that those protesting tried to raise their voice & create a national dialogue multiple times over the years, including kneeling during the anthem. But people who didn't want to listen or engage in that dialogue ignored that, and made it something else.

Once you ignore concerns for that long, things tend to boil over. It sucks that it has to be that way, but that's really who we are as a species, and it's not going to change. It will be that way w/ the climate, also.

But people will look back on 2020 the same way we look at the '60's. A time of tumult, but that ultimately led to an advancement for society.

I don't really care what you say about that. Like the '60's, some moved forward w/ the rest of the society, and some decided to just hang around in the '50's.

Well, the whole white supremacy thing is sheer conjecture.

The problem is—it’s ridiculously easy to be one lol. Anyone who isn’t ‘woke’ is a step away from being a white supremacist. Democrats are chasing an illusion if they think *actual* white supremacists make up anything more than a tiny fraction of Trump supporters.

Like with ‘racism’ liberals have trivialized it by applying to so many people so easily.
