Supermarkets Adjust Meat Sections as Coronavirus Cuts Supply

Nope. The amount of water in alcohol doesn't affect it's ability to kill germs at all.
If you are using, for example, 20% alcohol, it is as effective as 1/5 of the 100% alcohol. Just use more of it.

Actually, just washing things down with water and a bit of soap is just as effective for practical cases. While it doesn't destroy the virus, it does remove it. Just put it the sewer. If the water is hot enough, it will destroy the virus, even without soap.

Another way to destroy the virus is to expose it to UV light, such as that contained in sunlight. UV-A is sufficient to destroy the virus. Sunlamps also work, but UV LED devices are generally not going to do much, due to their low power.

My bad. isopropyl alcohol does not go that low. It begins at the 70% level.
Ethyl @ at least 60% and Isopropyl @ at least 70% will kill viruses, funguses & bacteria, but only the 70% level of Isopropyl will kill the spores.
Play it safe and always opt for the 91% and 99% Isopropyl.

Alcohol can go as low as a tincture.

I use 25% alcohol to dissolve bits of rubber in one of my processes.

One has to be pretty desperate to shop for canned chile in a store they don't want to go to! :D

I still have a few cans in my stash. :0)

I just feel like Walmart is dirtier than my Giant Grocery store. There are so many more people there, and I just don't feel their cleanliness standards are as good as a standard grocers.

It's just a matter of degrees. I'll go if it becomes really necessary.

But you're right about people buying up prepared, easy to cook foods.

Yep, exactly...... Before I would not go in for anything but now, if necessary I will.. Actually it is the closest store.

When the city council finally acquiesced & let them build, the other stores fixing to build pulled out, creating a vacuum.. Prob over a mile before there is real grocer...

They are not very clean & a crime magnet.. One of the guys on the city council @ the time was Vet cop & part of the Mayor rotation.. He started quoting off stats of crime, & comparing them to grocery stores, even Target, it was on average about 15+% worse-crime, theft, muggings & robberies in the parking lot etc.. (Obviously additional cost to the city, county while giving them a tax break :palm: )

Yeah, lots of downsides to it, Bill. We even had a murder in the parking lot of one of the Md. stores.

I could do without it. Tho, when it was 24 hour (mine no longer is) I did like being able to shop at 1am in the morning.

There was an attack here last year.. Two punks started some shit in the store & then did a drive by in the parking lot shooting the other kid..

They have cameras inside & out & cops had them in jail in a couple days, they seem to attract it more than the average store for sure..

I could avoid them more, I have been in this one twice in maybe 4 years?? Went in a few months ago to buy a BB gun for $17 there, it was $47 on Amazon, mid morning was home in a half hour...

Bill, you mentioned feeding beef hearts to some kind of tropical fish.

As a former fellow hobbyist, I was curious what kind of fish you kept.

It was live bearing specialty guppies, angel fish etc... After about 20 years I lost interest but they ate good... (would sell them to local pet/fish related stores)

Nice! I tried many species, too.

I once had a pair of Angels breed. It was fascinating to watch them care for their young after the eggs hatched. I sold the babies to the local fish store, too. :0)

Yea, for many it was store cred so I had lots of stuff, cabinets etc..

I had several have babies but they will eat them all if I left them in there..

So you no longer have an interest in them??

I'm not interested in cleaning tanks right now, LOL.

But I still have an old love for the hobby.

Yeah, guppies will eat them. Angels suck them into their mouth then spit them back out. They tend and protect their eggs, and protect the hatchings inside their mouth.

LOL, I feed them many a guppy.. I had some males that had huge fan tails, yellowish lime green w/ black spots (they sold them as yellow leopards) on them that were real popular... Had to be careful though as if they weren't hungry the guppy would pick on them......
