Ted Nugent proves a shotgun is deadlier than an AR-15

"So, what you're saying is that you cannot refute my statements." R6
I never suggested anything of the kind.
If you make another bogus statement I can refute it.
"As for the quote "But the terrified left doesn't want to hear that fact noooo they prefer to listen to their bs masters telling them pure bs because why they know they are that stupid and lazy.
Liberals are the party of liars!" QT #1" That statement was not mine, address the poster who posted it." R6
Your comment to me referred to my reply to it. And this is an open forum, so I already have.
"Ballistics aside, a .22 can be just as deadly as a .223, no?" R6
Are you asking me because you don't know the answer? Or are you asking me because you think I don't know?

It's not my first rodeo my friend. And while there's no moral, ethical, or legal obligation for me to disclose my résumé suffice it to say what I've already disclosed in this topic, and the conspicuous absence of error therein should inform the observant that I have not exceeded my expertise here, unlike the author of the lead.
"And the statement "So you and Nugent think a shotgun kills the victim even deader? This topic is bogus!
CERTAINLY a 12 ga. slug or sabot can deliver more foot pounds to target than a .223." is silly.
If you had even a hint of knowledge of ballistics, you'd know at greater distances a shotgun slug loses both it's accuracy and energy because, well, gravity works." R6
Even if some portion of that is true, as I've already pointed out, it's irrelevant.

Even at the maximum range a standard classroom can accommodate, it does not substantially advantage scatter guns over the AR.

Yet once again, in a schoolroom massacre it is rate of fire, and ammunition ergonomics that matter more than target accuracy at 350 meter range.

Since you have all the answers, please inform us:
approximately what are the volume, and weight differentials between 180 rounds of AR-15 ammo, vs 180 rounds of shotgun ammo?
"A gun is a tool." Actor Alan Ladd in title character of Shane

?!
This lead post is a fount of abysmal ignorance, and feebly supported agenda.

a) Lethality in terminal ballistics is quantified in foot pounds of energy delivered to target.

b) I welcome anyone to quote anyone from the ostensible "terrified left" (the precise term used in the lead) asserting the AR-15 delivers more foot pounds to target than the most powerful shotgun, or perhaps more precisely, smooth-bore long gun.

c) The horrified left shares the conservative alarm at the carnage being perpetrated in our government schools.

d) The issue with the AR-15, the similar Bushmaster, and other high capacity assault STYLE carbines is NOT the foot pounds they deliver per round.

Instead it's the number of rounds it can deliver quickly.

And to prove my counterpoint I challenge Nugent or QT to a 60 second firing range contest.
The shotgunner can take take a shotgun like that depicted in the still graphic in the lead,
and I'll take an AR-15, and in a simultaneous 60 second firing match, I'll allow the shotgunner to fire as many times as s/he can.
And during those same 60 seconds, I'll fire the AR-15 as often as I can. Both gunners will be allowed to reload during the exhibition.

When the minute has fully elapsed, we can count the number of shots fired from each weapon.

And my wager:
In those 60 seconds I will with the AR-15 fire twice the number of rounds fired by the shotgun; and perhaps more than twice.

This topic is absurd.

Note:
My offer ONLY stands if the shotgunner covers all my expenses, including travel, hotel, meals, and all other costs.
Agreed. Absurd indeed. I’ll add another criteria to your test. Place the target 300 meters downfield and see who hits the target most.

Are you calling the Sandy Hook school massacre shooter a master?

Are you calling the corpses of the students from multiple school massacres "just fear based hysteria"?

That doesn't even pass for rational.

Nope.
If your comment / opinion quoted above is representative, you're a half-wit.
Thats not really his point. His point is Nugent is making an apples to orange comparison.

jeebus, ANY weapon, even a .22, can kill people when done in close quarters, say like a school building. you're giving the .223 way too much credit for it's ability to kill and not taking in to account other extenuating circumstances.

Caution, GRAPHIC! Viewer discretion advised.

This is what a Ruger 10/22 can do.

Yet I still have the guns you say I shouldn't own but have been invited to come and try to take.
I am saying you're a coward who mouths off on the internet, but shits himself when somebody like Bourbon calls his bluff.

" Place the target 300 meters downfield and see who hits the target most. " MH #22
That's fine, but please explain to us all what relevance that has to schoolroom massacres.

I'll do the math for you.

a) If the schoolroom measures 20' x 30' then the maximum range from in the room would be less than 33' from muzzle to target.

b) As most public school students are minors their torso kill zone can be approximated to be 10" wide *. Therefore to miss a center-aimed shot by more than 5" windage at the 300 meter range you specify might leave the intended target unharmed.

BUT !!

c) At 30' range that same shot would only miss the bullseye by 0.01"
For purposes of combat, that's a virtual bullseye. It's a lethal shot. Well within the 10" kill zone.

So your impressions of accuracy at extreme range may be true. But they're all PURELY irrelevant to the classroom massacre scenario.

* This completely ignores the issue of trajectory elevation, for multiple reasons.
1) Most public school student torsos are taller than they are wide.

2) At classroom range, elevation is a virtual non-issue.

The topic issue is that liberals are in emotion-driven error about the AR, because SOME shotguns are more lethal *.

I have (if you'll pardon the ballistic metaphor) blasted that myth out of the water.

* The 18 ga. is rather lightweight compared to a magnum 12 ga.
BUT !!
The 18 ga. is substantially more powerful than the .410

Excerpt from the full video Ted Nugent: The Music Made Me Do Itcoming soon to Infowars.com. Here, Ted demonstrates the killing power of a shotgun compared to an AR-15.

I thought Teddy Boy was DEAD ... or in JAIL

That's because you're an ignorant buffoon. Thanks for the reminder.

Can you give us a comparison on the ballistic differences between an 18 gauge and a .410?
The 18 gauge is rare, but what the hell, I'm interested in knowing, just for shits and giggles.

Rarely do we find a back-slam so precisely on target. Well done!

R6 #35

The primary quantifiable parameter is foot pounds delivered to target. I usually get that stuff from The Shooter's Bible, which also lists trajectory tables. I've loaned mine to a friend, so can't reference it at the moment.

But additional factors include:
- total projectile mass
- pellet size
- pellet density (lead or steel)
- choke, or dispersion pattern
- powder charge
- barrel bore
- barrel length
- trajectory

among numerous other factors.

I've fired the 18 ga & 12 ga. I've never fired a .410 but wouldn't hunt anything larger than a frog with it.

Well, I had a .410. It was a Mossberg bolt action and great for small game like rabbits and squirrel. It's a great slug gun, too.
