The health insurance 'death spiral' hitting more and more Americans

Yes, 7% of Americans use the ACA marketplace--that is 24 million.

Actually, almost all employer provided health insurance is not government subsidized.

As for the 23 million on expanded Medicaid, that's just another form of social-welfare.
You are correct. It was 24.3 million in 2025. It has declined somewhat, now at 19.2 million. Source: ACA enrollment statistics.

You are a fucking moron.

ALL insurance premiums are paid with pre tax dollars.

Get a clue.

"Medicare for All" is public payment for private services which would still be inefficiently expensive.
Also, Medicare is not comprehensive.

What we really need is a cradle to grave National Health Service.
Yet, there seems to be so little support for it, even among those who would benefit most.
I simply cannot understand it.

The "law" restricted insurance companies from assessing risk; from underwriting. What would happen to car insurance or homeowner's insurance companies if they were legally forbidden to assess risk? You could wreck a car, buy a policy the next day and the company would have to pay for it. That's the exact concept which happened to health insurance. It destroyed their business, they literally had to DEPEND on gubmint subsidies to stay afloat when previously, they could assess risk, and deny coverage to someone with terminal cancer or another pre-existing expensive condition.

Stop buying the lies that insurance companies"wanted" this and profitted, it is false. All it did was destablize the entire industry and that was by design.
The trade off was the mandate which Republicans eventually killed. I don't see publicly traded insurers crying about diminshed profits.

50 populations whose lives are better thanks to the ACA

Millions of Americans would have worse health insurance – or none at all – without Obamacare. But the law's protections extend beyond insurance benefits.

Still whining because your Messiah fucked things up with his fascist care scheme to enrich Kaiser?
