I appreciate that idea. We're on a Politics Forum discussing Syria. You asked my view, I'm giving you my opinion. I think the US should stay and support the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria (Syrian land east of the Euphrates) as an autonomous region in Syria.
no. the Iraqi army will not flee like before against ISIS if it ever came to that again -So Donald Trump is doing the same thing that the Trump Tards accused Obama of doing- creating a vacuum that ISIS will gladly refill!
Hypocrites! Donald Trump being the largest!

No! No! We are in fact at war with terrorism! ISIS is a terrorist regime.
And ISIS is more than 30,000 strong in Syria.
The Turkish Kurds have been doing the hand-to-hand combat on-the-ground fighting, and we have been training them, helping to arm them, coordinating their battles, and backing them with air-strikes.
If we leave, we leave the Kurds vulnerable to attack, wiped out, and killed behind us. That doesn't sound like a good way to end our responsibility there!
no it's not. there are maybe 3000 total and they hold no real ground -just pockets of desert here and there. No! No! We are in fact at war with terrorism! ISIS is a terrorist regime.

The JV Team
Anyway the left didn't care about that happening in Nam..so why now?
the Kurds got screwed. they always do. but we can't make Turkey allow them to have a stateWe brought most of the South Vietnamese home with us! Are you suggesting we bring the Syrian Christian rebels and the Kurds home with us now?
I doubt it! So maybe it is you Trump Yip Yap Republicans that don't give a shit? Huh?

The Kurds and the Shi'a militias and Iraq and Iranian regular forces as well all went after ISIS -
that was the "coalition"
Our role was to coordinate and give expertise. Mission Accomplished -so get out now.
The only real reason to stay now it to babysit the Kurds but they can handle ISIS remnants
-and we are a small group-that really cant go on the offense by ourselves

That was a UN report those number are ludicrous. The Pentagon just gave us an update just this month, and they are estimating over 30,000 ISIS troops are still in Syria.
Donald Trump was advised of this!
Turkey isn't going to wipe them out.We can't allow Turkey to just wipe them out either.
We can't trust them!

we did a good job in Syria and we did it with regional partners, and Trump especially gets creditAnd we can’t cure every global ill with our military.
And we can’t cure every global ill with our military.
You must be pleased that he is handing over the country to the Russians. Most likely Putin told him to get out, and he did what he was told. Fuck, even our State department had no idea what was happening, and most likely our military leaders as well.
[h=1]Marco Rubio Rips Syria Withdrawal: A 'Colossal Mistake' That Will 'Haunt This Administration'[/h]
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is among the conservatives slamming the Trump Administration’s announcement that the U.S. is about to pull out of Syria.
Following President Donald Trump‘s claim that ISIS has been defeated in Syria, the White House says the military is taking quick action to withdraw 2,000 American service members from the region. Not everyone is convinced this is a good idea, however, and Rubio is among those who believe the pullout is a “colossal mistake” and a “grave error.”
The Florida Senator added, on Twitter, that he believes the move is a “major blunder” which will “haunt” the Trump administration.
