So if we stay- what will we actually do to "support the Kurds?"
no. the Iraqi army will not flee like before against ISIS if it ever came to that again -
and the US leaving Syria does not leave it in a vacuum like it did in Iraq/Libya

No! No! We are in fact at war with terrorism! ISIS is a terrorist regime.
And ISIS is more than 30,000 strong in Syria.
The Turkish Kurds have been doing the hand-to-hand combat on-the-ground fighting, and we have been training them, helping to arm them, coordinating their battles, and backing them with air-strikes.
If we leave, we leave the Kurds vulnerable to attack, wiped out, and killed behind us by Turkey and ISIS. That doesn't sound like a good way to end our responsibility there!

that was the "coalition"
Our role was to coordinate and give expertise. Mission Accomplished -so get out now.
The only real reason to stay now it to babysit the Kurds but they can handle ISIS remnants

The Pentagon just gave us an update just this month, and they are estimating over 30,000 ISIS troops are still in Syria.
Donald Trump was advised of this!

at it's peak ISIS was maybe 100k

and that report breaks it down to 16k in Iraq ( more bullshit) and 14k in Syria
of the 14k in Syria only about 3k are in pockets the US could hit ( we are in a small area) and the rest dispersed as terrorists..
That report is an outlier that says ISIS is still a functional state as well -it's garbage
The U.S. military has not released any figures since last year, but comments by military officials had indicated there were not many more than 10,000 fighters left. total.
Turkey isn't going to wipe them out.
They allow them to exist, but they will not allow them to be a state because of classifying the PKK and YPG
as terrorist organizations.
