No, I mean by watching people, left wingers, including here call rep Scott a "watermelon eating uncle tom", or the racist hashtags in question being called 'being triggered'.


if we are truly fighting for racial justice we should not look the other way when people we tend to agree with, behave in a racist way against someone we disagree with in politics.

Well there are plenty of idiots and trolls on various politics forum site. :dunno:

As to being "triggered" by a hashtag, I meant they should have just ignored it and let Twitter deal with it. People say the dumbest things on Twitter.

But I think I understand what you mean. Those people should be held accountable for calling others racist for agreeing/disagreeing with Tim Scott.

He had a valid opinion.

Why should I not be upset about a racist hashtag? Why should that be exempt? Scott had a valid opinion, one I mostly do not agree with, but a valid one. for people to call him a "watermelon eating uncle tom" (that REALLY happened today by a far left poster here), or hashtag #uncletim trending as it did. I have to stand up and say this is now who we who identify as democrats are.

As to standing up, asserting that (I guess opinion but based on experience, lol)the hashtag #UncleTim is nothing but trolls trying to cause discord IS standing up for all who identify as Democrats and liberals.

A man has been ordered to pay $12m (£8.6m) for his role setting a Minneapolis police station on fire during rioting last May.
The fine for Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, who pleaded guilty to an arson charge in December, will follow a four year prison sentence.
Robinson's lawyer has said "there is no realistic chance" his client will be able to afford the fine.

Thats how we should be when we see things like a mass racist hashtag campaign, we should treat it as more than simple "triggering" and "trolling".

Yeah. We need to educate people about trolling and how to recognize them and make them stop.
