Wake County students could get day off for Muslim holiday

I thought you were supporting 'Religious Holidays', 'religion' in schools? I hope you understand what that means. It's not just a 'Go' light for Christians, it's a 'Go' light for the Saudis who are in the Business of spreading their Religion around the Globe. Establishing 'Muslim' Schools in America and stocking them with Wahhabi 'Scholars' would be the icing on the cake. Zillions of devout Muslims would come here to 'study'.

Thanks, RB60, another brilliant idea. (God, do me a favor ... STOP listening to 'guno')

What "idea" have I suggested? You're writing your own thoughts into my posts. It seems you are listening to guno too much...

I thought we were talking about 'religious holidays' in general?
Public Schools and 'Religious Holidays' don't mix well in my opinion.
im not to fond of it.

I graduated from a rural high school in a farming community that’s overwhelmingly German Catholic. When I attended, 1979-1980, they openly practiced Catholic services in School and overtly discriminated against Protestants students who were very few and I happened to be one of them. Finally in the mid 80’s the State came down on them and threatened to take over the school if they didn’t stop.

So having experienced that personally I have absolutely no use for religion in public schools. It will be used to both descriminate and proselytize.

OK. I may have misconstrued what you were advocating. So you are NOT for establishing a Muslim Caliphate in Washington, DC and the killing of all Christians in America?
(Somehow your stance on religion in school just led me to that conclusion)

I agree. Thanks for the personal experience.

Will the Pagans get their Holidays too? Or is it just the Official Cults?

The one-God religions are enough, surely, without going back to that tedious old bilge with its interminable classical or national 'myth'? Leave it to the truly primitive and the poor buggers still doing Classics, if there are any!

Oh no, iolo. Zeus and the Olympians have to have their day. Plus the Druids, don't want to leave them out. Course, the Satan Worshippers will want their Feast Days too, can't 'discriminate'.

I can, mate. I am very discriminating! :)

I know you guys have some kind of State Religion over there, but we don't here. We have a Founding Principle "Separation of Church and State". We need to abide by that. All these various religious groups all want to destroy that concept.

Yes, but we had to make those days off (like snow days) up in the spring, and that sucked.

no it did not, because everyone knows the last week of school you just sit there and watch movies. it's the perfect time to add an extra day.

I've never expressed my stance on religion in schools. How can you reach a conclusion?

RB60: "Oh, and we do have "Religious Schools" schools all across this country. Isn't Notre Dame (just an example) considered a Roman Catholic institution?"
Jack: This sounded like an endorsement.

Since when does a simple statement and a question progress into an endorsement?
Are you the typical liberal who takes things out of context, then deviates them into
your own misconstrued sentiments? You surely sound like it.

Yes.
