APP - What are your thoughts about a president renaming things after America, because he is in a fight with another country?

It's childish. It's petty. It's an obvious ploy to appeal to his poorly-educated, single-cell followers. It makes him -- and us by extension -- look like an angry, thwarted toddler whose mom just took his box of crackers away.

I find the behavior bizarre. It is fortunately done by executive order and can be reversed by future Presidents. Unfortunately, the millions to do so is wasted.

Good point. It seems like his special brand of magical thinking. "If I say it out loud, it becomes true." Plus it's a lot easier than actually doing something to "make America great again," like fixing health care, passing immigration reform, curbing inflation (easily done by stopping the bullshit with Iran), making housing available and affordable, etc.
