Airstrip One
Completely Effed
That's pretty wild.
my take:
The knee: It seems like it was a normal thing to do but they did it for too long. Remember there were 4 other cops in the scene and there was even the asian one keeping everyone back. They also knew they were being recorded. This leads me to believe that the knee thing was a standard submission technique. What I dont understand is why they kept doing it. Its not like the perp could have run away.
The Cause of Death: I really doubt he was choked out by the knee. You can see a lot of space in between his neck and the ground which meant he could breath. He was even turning his head from one side to another. My guess is they kept him on the ground instead of dragging him off because they were calling for an ambulance as one did arrive on the scene in that video.
My initial guess: Excessive force and they were already terminated but not racism. When something is racist you would know like that jogger in central park. Im not sure why people claim race plays a factor here.
so yeah I think the first cop was out of line
I think it's a tougher case to blame the other cops. Especially given I didn't even see two of the cops in the video. It's hard to blame all of them when 3 of them weren't even touching the other guy. (speaking as a legal matter)
as for this being murder. I doubt this will be 2nd degree or higher. th is will prob be negligent homocide/manslaughter at max. maybe involuntary. it's hard to prove in court this cop intentionally killed this guy. that's what you'd need for 1st or second.
The UK police use the same technique but not for five or more minutes like that cop though. This seems like the ideal answer for dealing with violent suspects.
Chauvin is charged with third degree murder and manslaughter, as I said he would be. A jury will decide if choking foreseeable leads to death.
If I were the other three, I would not get comfortable. The prosecutor is almost certainly working out what to charge them with. To get murder, the prosecutor needs to work out a conspiracy. To avoid murder they need to work out no conspiracy.
If you were choking him at the time, then you would go to prison for murder. Every murder victim would have died sooner or later of something else, but they died first from being murdered. If every murder victim had been stronger, they would have survived the murder attempt, but they were not.
It does not matter if Floyd had other health problems that contributed to him dying from being choked, or if he would have died from those health problems sooner or later. That describes every other murder victim.
That the police continued to choke him for four minutes after he lost consciousness, and even after he died... That locks in murder charges.
First degree murder is often tough to get to. I don't think I have seen anyone here suggesting first degree murder. It is a reckless disregard, which would be either second or third degree murder.
The question i responded to was the nature of that cause of death.
Knee on the back of his neck did not kill him.
The facts that we have prove that.
Any further chatter before the autopsy is meaningless.
3rd degree murder and manslaughter. not 1st, not second. You'd have to be a retard to think this was first degree murder, ambulance chaser
jerome the dumbass ambulance chaser thought it would be 1st degree.
why do we have "degrees of murder" if they can't be proven?
THAT IS SO RACIST WHITE MEN CAN GET AWAY WITH MURDER.
tee hee hee
you racist fucks will throw anything on the wall to see what sticks...........
Floyd cooperated. The former police claimed that he resisted arrest, but the security video shows that was not true.
Choking will always kill a person when done for long enough. We need air to live. He may have had a preexisting condition that made that go quicker, but murders are stuck with their victim's health. The police had a warning that Floyd was dying when he called for help, and later when he lost consciousness.
Murder victims often have rap sheets, but there were no "felonies of assault." He only was arrested once for armed robbery, but not assault. It happened 13 years ago.
I'm not jumping to conclusions given how often the media lies. what went down? I've only seen brief out of context video clips.
