Like everything else these days, you hope the value goes up because the dividends sure as hell won't retire you.
Michael was bad. Well, more directly, when michael ran into a cold front and was dumping an inch of rain every ten minutes on us, it was bad. Massive power outages, flash floods, tons of damage. Historical flooding in our area. Most but not all of my raised beds became razed beds in about twenty minutes--plants, walls, dirt all gone. A stone wall gone. A huge rock that takes about 3 people to manhandle on the west side of my property before is now in a ditch on the east side of my property. A section of the east side of my property is now federally regulated airspace as the ground is now gone. Just got power back today. Ironically the cable and phone company trucks were in my neighborhood before it had stopped raining but the electric folks didn't make it until today. Not really their fault though. All the main grid lines into my city except 1 went down in the storm.
Anyway, everything can be fixed, or replaced as far as us. Others were not so lucky, so it has been more an expensive annoyance than a woe is me experience. Just grateful I am not in the lot of some folks around here. Everyone was prepared for Florence. Michael was totally unexpected. We were supposed to get 4 or 5 inches over twelve hours and exceeded that in just 1 hour.
