Florida Stand Your Ground Law Causing Needless Deaths - part deux

A dispatch office is not authorized to issue commands to anyone, so once again you're just trying to base your opinion of an assumption.

If you haven't bothered to educate yourself on the time line, then you won't accept any answer from me.

:truestory:

That's pretty funny. Of course a dispatcher is not authorized to tell anyone what to do. But Zimmerman was aware that police were on the way. And what was Martin doing which caused Zimmerman to follow him? I'll give you a hint, even though you pretend to know all about the matter. Martin was known to the cops as a thief and burglar.

But a comparison for you would be if Zimmerman found Martin in his shed and followed him a couple of miles before shooting him. The only thing that saved Zimmerman was Florida's "stand your ground" law.

I took Marine prisoners all over the southwestern United States from 81-84. I picked them up wherever they were arrested or turned themselves in for whatever reason, and from hospitals etc. Usually it was DUI or fights etc, almost always I treated them professionally and they cooperated with whatever I told them to do. Few really scared me but I was very careful with all of them from the 140lbers to the massive guys that could twist my head off if they got hold of me. We all were trained killers and I didn't forget that fact. The thing the Marine Corps pounded in my head was it was my job NOT to have to kill any of them, always have control of the situation. I could shoot them or use deadly force if I THOUGHT it was necessary, but I owed it to my God, Country and Corps to take them from point A to point B without incident. It was my duty.

Many, times I picked Marines up from local PD's and transported them to their unit SgtMaj or to the brig or whatever. One time I got sent out to 29 Palms to bring a prisoner back to Camp Pendleton to stand a General Courts Martial for raping his XO's wife. OMG he was huge. I was in great shape about 5'9 176 lbs and low body fat. His biceps were the size of my thighs. It was 110F and I loaded him onto the back of a duce and a half to transport us out of the field to a jeep at main side. The 10 wheelers flipped over on a whim and even though the MPs suggested I hand cuff the prisoner to the bench I would not do it because if it flipped he could not jump and have a chance of not getting crushed. I handcuffed him in front, gave him my canteen because of the heat and hoped he would not jump me because of the kindness. He explained to me him and his XO's wife had been screwing for 2 years, he came home one day and caught them doing it and she immediately claimed he was raping her. I told him I actually believed everything he said, but it just makes me more likely to shoot you, so don't even look at me wrong. He got it, I avoided the situation that I had to use deadly force and I accomplished my mission. I would have had a lot more leeway shooting him than I would have a 140 pounder in handcuffs that had a DUI in Garden Grove. It is certainly situational, but he use of deadly force should always be the last choice. stand your ground etc moves that way up the scale of shooting early and letting God sort them out. Zimmerman created a situation he (if everything he says is true) had to shoot Martin. It was murder.

So you have failed to follow any of the Police or Trial transcripts and are just going on what you believe occurred; because none of what you want to present as facts hold water; just like you're continued comment of Trayvon being unarmed.

I'm beginning to believe that you're used to posting anything and everyone just accepts it.

I'm not sure why you found it necessary to post so much personal information; when all it was going to lead to, was you still refusing to acknowledge that it was Trayvon who forced the assault and was shot in self defense.

So you have failed to follow any of the Police or Trial transcripts and are just going on what you believe occurred; because none of what you want to present as facts hold water; just like you're continued comment of Trayvon being unarmed.

Where did I say any of that, particularly the part about Trayvon being unarmed? I said no such thing, but then you claim that he was armed with a sidewalk.

Let me repeat. Two morons found themselves on a Florida street. One of them died.

It's too bad that we can't ask Zimmerman if he might have handled it differently. Of course, Martin is taking a long dirt nap. If he had treated it differently, he'd probably be doing hard time somewhere today.

This is the law that makes it OK for deplorable white guys to shoot unarmed black men.

All that is required is for the deplorable white guy who wants to get away with killing black men to provoke the black man and get him to make a physical or threatening action.

Then the deplorable white guy can pull out his concealed weapon, shoot and kill the black man, and then claim self defense under the Florida Stand Your Ground law.

Totally deplorable.

And nobody really had to die at all.

That makes America deplorable.

MADA

Make America Deplorable Again.

Please show me where Florida law says anything about being provoked means you get to assault someone.

I wonder if the situation had been reversed, if the black guy had the gun and smarted off to the white guy, got pushed, then shot him to death -- would *he* not be charged under the SYG laws?

What IF the shooter was Black??

What if the other guy had been White?

What if...…………………………………..??

As a young Marine I often carried a firearm in public (out in the civilian sector) in the performance of my duties. Before Zimmerman pretty much what the Marine Corps drilled into my head about use of deadly force was what we discussed on the firearms forums I hung out on. I don't believe in shooting people to protect private property unless that property can save lives, such as F-18's or ambulances, otherwise it is appropriate to protect my life or the lives of others. The appropriate use of deadly force is very nuanced, and the conservobots slipped a cog when Martin was murdered by Zimmerman.

Zimmerman was acquitted; and the jury was not all white. I am curious why you liberal idiots continue to pretend he wasn't assaulted and scared for his life.

I hope you get jumped by some young black thug someday and have him sit on top of you pounding you dumb ass and have you think out loud how glad you are you didn't use deadly force.

Dumbass; you still haven't responded to my claim that your Vietnam service was a big lie....you say you were in in 1962. We didn't go into Vietnam with ground troops until 1965. You also didn't state what unit you served with; I guess that would be hard when you're lying right?

Yea sure, the kid was unarmed. Zimmerman was armed and his job that day was not to have to kill anyone. He didn't have to kill Martin. Zimmerman made that happen. But lets not discuss the past, lets discuss the appropriate use of deadly force.

As I understand it, in Florida I could shoot someone breaking into an empty shed on my property, cause it was on my property. That is not a moral use of deadly force.

You would be wrong; but then a better question would be when are you ever right? Or truthful?
