Sure, you could add potato chips too I guess. Depends on how far is practical.I dont necessarily disagree with you but you need to add sugar and wheat to your list
I think my special ID for buying tobacco and alcohol is practical.

There are plenty of ignorant people who think medical care should be "free" which is part of the problem. There are tons of Urgent Care Clinics with reasonably priced services. Also, there are State Health Dept. Clinics where you pay on a sliding fee schedule. If one can't afford either of those, then one is eligible for Medicaid offered through the State which also offers dental services.
Three solid options against showing up in hospital emergency rooms for non-emergency care.
Period. Get over it.
Yep. Hospitals are not going to give out treatment for free. They will recover whatever is spent on treating the uninsured by charging health insurance companies more. Those companies will then pass along those costs to you in the form of higher premiums and higher deductibles.
Wrong. If you get injured or sick at the wrong time, you go to emergency and wait, wait and wait to be seen. I got hit over the eye with a racket playing racketball and had to get 8 stitches. It took about 5 hours to get it done.
Not really. E.g., anybody and everybody in AK must show an ID to buy booze in AK, even in a bar no matter the age. They look for a stamp placed on their ID indicating if they've ever been convicted of a DWI. DWI, no alcohol, period.
A special ID can be made for buying cigs and alcohol use only. If they are a medicaid recipient it would show on the alcohol/cig ID. The amt. each person buys could be swiped and put into the system.
If the ID doesn't have the medicaid stamp on it they can buy all they want, Big Brother isn't watching those folks.
It could be done. Not easy but possible.
I need to be King. The country needs it.
You're absolutely right. I once asked a friend that works in a liquor store how many times he saw someone try to buy alcohol that had a positive ID for the dui. That assumes everyone that drinks is the one that purchased the alcohol.

Never.
So an alchy or smoker would definitely find a way to get around it. At best it would make it inconvenient.
OK, you win this one.
Hmmm. I'll have to think up another solution.
Maybe annual medical exams that test for tobacco and alcohol use but I don't know if that exists.![]()

Shouldn't have played with that three yr old girl that whipped your arse~
Yep, gubmint can test for it.If someone is a smoker, while they may be able to lessen the smell, they can't totally get rid of it.
Yep, gubmint can test for it.
ID card for buying tobacco is at least a partial answer.
Same here with alcohol. If someone is a smoker, there is no need for such test. The smell test is good enough.
In my State, there is an ID card for buying tobacco. It's called a driver's license that shows you're 18.
Same here with alcohol.
Just put on the ID card if the owner of it is a medicaid recipient or not. Any ID without an indication one way or another disqualifies the person from buying tobacco.
Anyways, all a pipe dream to expect gubmint to hold recipients of its handouts to be responsible.
That's what you will get if you end government run health care. People who can't afford health insurance will have to go emergency clinics to get treated for things their primary care doctor/specialist used to handle.
Also, all the money you saved by ending government health care will go to pay your new health insurance premium...which will be much higher.
What does it matter if you pay for the ones who don't pay when you pay taxes...or when you pay your health insurance?

Sounds like Fascism .
Not at all.
There's an easy solution for those on the government dole if they don't like being told what to do. Stop taking the freebies.
