Do you support mandatory arming of teachers?
Who said it should be mandatory?

I don't support anyone arming themselves who do not get proper training and practice. So what is your solution to the tragedies?
The reality is, for better and worse, the internet makes almost everything more accessible today. But even with that guns have always been accessible. (I realize we all grew up in different parts of the country so they were probably more accessible in some areas than others).
But something has changed in the mindset of kids and I’m not fully buying the idea that kids of my generation (i’m 46) would have shot up schools if only they had access to guns.

"Teacher" doubles down on the dumb. Why isn't "teacher" outraged and appalled at all these children dying so gunhumpers can have their precious bang-bangs?

Will you understand if the doesn't have one, TD - except another law that only non-criminals will obey?
You're almost the same age as my oldest son. He is 44. The next in line is my oldest daughter, who just turned 41. When she was in h.s. a kid brought a loaded handgun to school. He actually walked right by her in the hall when she and her friend were at their lockers. He went around the corner and into his algebra classroom, and held the teacher and other kids hostage till the cops talked him into surrendering. That was in 1995. It could have turned out far, far worse.

This was a bullying situation, apparently. Most of us got bullied as kids at one time or another, but it never occurred to us to get a gun and deal with it that way. Despite all the violent cartoons on Saturday morning we watched. Something has changed for sure, and the easy access to firearms isn't helping.

I expect him to continue avoiding honest questions and spam the forum with his willful lunacy unabashed.
That is kind of funny considering you admit to being a member of a "gun club". And like to blowup pineapples with a shotgun. Does'nt that make you a "gunhumper" also?

Social media isn’t going away and I’m not attempting to blame all of this on social media but I find it difficult to believe that social media and the internet aren’t playing a role in why all this is happening.
Nope. Wasn't my gun club. As I told your raving lunatic friend RB long, long ago, Mr. Owl competed in target shooting competitions long before I knew him. The private gun club was his baby. I just went there a couple of times with him. I have never fired a shotgun; not sure where you got that idea. I have two that belonged to my late husband, as well as a few handguns. The only one of those I've shot is a Taurus .357. Mr. Owl does his own reloading; he made special light rounds for that gun so the recoil doesn't hurt my hands as badly. If it were up to me we would own no guns. But he had many before we met; it's not fair to demand that he get rid of them now. I gave him mine as well.

I'm sure that it does play a role. I don't think violent video games are to blame though; as Jade pointed out, other countries have those as well.
Pineapples....lol...a case![]()

I’ve never been a video game person as a kid or an adult. They were around when I was growing up but I don’t think kids played them at the level of today. The issue with video games to me is the number of hours some of these kids spend playing them instead of being outside playing (with other kids). (I’m not suggesting gov’t needs to do anything to address this but I would bet dollars to donuts it all contributes to what’s affecting kids these days)
...actually 6, maybe 7, depending on weight......most often

But if you only shot 4, you got ripped off![]()
