Racial Integration

In light of the Harris/Biden discussion on busing and integration at the first primary debate this Facebook post by my friend jumped out at me. This is a guy I've known since high school. His parents were members of the Black Panther Party in Oakland and he considers himself a more revolutionary thinker. He wrote this:

Now in a sense this is all academic because integration has occurred. (However many of our communities still are heavily racially divided.) Of course 50+ years ago America was largely white and black. Today Hispanics are the largest minority and there are large number of Asian and Indian immigrants coming as well. So I don't know how possible it is today to go back to the large black communities of the past when discrimination forced them to be that way.

People commenting on his post agreed and said they have been held back by integration. The black experience in America has been a unique one. I don't know that what he wants is possible or how it would play out. But being discussed in a Presidential debate it's clearly a topic on (some at least) people's minds.

The only hustle was blacks putting their faith in the democrat party

Blacks were doing much better before leftists like Desh started “caring” about them

Nope. I don’t hang out with many illiterate people either.

But, when I hear their “I seen this” or “I done this”, regardless of color, I immediately know their upbringing and their education.

So black dialect is essentially equivalent to being illiterate? You must have had a heart attack when the Oakland school board passed the Ebonics initiative.

Been pulled over for driving a POS car that the cop hoped to find something stashed in. I dindu nutin except drive a shitty car. And he didn't find anything to cite me with. He just thought I had that druggie look because I was wearing yellow lens glasses (90s...what can I say?).

Cops develop biases. It's no excuse and we need non-malfunctioning cameras and a camera on guns as well to record any shots fired from the perspective of the cop doing the shooting. Multiple cameras. No more of these malfunctions. Criminal charges for tampering. We need a civilian internet review process where motivated individuals can look up and review the daily recordings of officers. Copbook.com It could be funded with gun ads! LOL

Victims of the police could name the cops and the crimes online to hopefully keep the police in line. This should be crowd funded by one of you woke liberals and made into a real thing. It's a digital whip to keep the cops where they belong... fearing reprisal for their heinous acts and fearing public shame in the community. Let's weed out the bad cops! Our government won't do it. They find them useful no matter who's in charge

I see. A black man who graduated from Cal, is a CEO of tech firm (1% percent of tech companies in this country are started by black people) and runs a mentoring program for hundreds of Oakland kids. But based on one sentence you know all about his intelligence and his upbringing.
