Robot roll call Impeachment

Hello dukkha,

you have no idea what you are talking about. SCOTUS took up Trump's appeal of a Congressional subpoena
Therefore it's not an Obstruction of Congress to resist a Congressional subpoena by taking it to court

I do not share your conclusion. The SCOTUS may rule either way on that.

I'm not going to speculate on Nixon's "assured" defeat of the DNC.

Asking for a FAVOR is not extortion.

However, admitting to withholding a billion dollars if a prosecutor is not fired, IS.

If you think Joe Biden should be prosecuted for doing what this country and most of the countries of the world wanted done with regard to that corrupt prosecutor...go for it.

That is not what we are discussing here.

We are discussing Trump's attempt to extort President Zelensky.

Dog...Trump attempted to extort President Zelensky. It was the power play of a bully...and it was for Trump's personal advantage.

Get over the excuse making. It won't work.

Some power play lol. Zelensky didn’t do ANYTHING.

Is Trump in the running for the Worlds Most Impotent Strong Man? Or how about The Most Benign Racist?

Most ignorant, classless president in the history of the United States.

He is what gamblers call "a prohibitive favorite" to win.

Hello Southern Chicken,

O
How is it an enjoyable life if one doesnt considers making the lives of current and future generations enjoyable? Some people also consider providing for their future generations.

I endeavor to do all of those things. Which is why I logically support the removal of President Trump for abusing his power and obstructing Congress.

Hello Darth,

Constitutionally, the House can send articles of impeachment accusing Trump of wearing the wrong color tie.

As far as Republicans are concerned that would be a more valid reason than trying to get a foreign country to help him rig the 2020 election.

Constitutionally, Republicans can give a summary judgment declaring them DOA—and forgo a trial. Or they can simply hold the vote the minute they arrive so this can be settled and congress can get back to doing something constructive.

Such as passing a budget or the new NAFTA? Oh, wait. They got those done even as they determined valid cause to impeach President Trump.

Democrats are doing this in defiance of the spirit of the constitution. And, they know it. The minute they hold the vote and send the articles over, they destine themselves to be subject to same treatment the next time republicans control the House.

Democrats are taking their responsibility very seriously. Republicans are being strictly partisan.

All Republicans will have to do is borrow Democrat argument: yes, we know strictly partisan impeachment votes shouldn’t occur because it’s a threat to democracy, but this president represents ‘a special case’; therefore, we have no choice but to send articles to the Senate with no democrat votes and even a few defectors from our own party.

If they want to further their record of being highly partisan, they are free to do so.

There’s an election in less than a year. Is it really worth it?

Hello. This impeachment is about trying to rig the 2020 election. That's why it can't wait.

Hello dukkha,

I do not share your conclusion. The SCOTUS may rule either way on that.
its NOT the upcoming ruling.. it's the fact SCOTUS took it up!
Trump turned to the courts fore relief, and the SCOTUS took it up - therefore turning to the courts is not Congressional obstruction

We are discussing Trump's attempt to extort President Zelensky.

Burisma bought access to John Kerry, the CIA, the EU, and President Obama. All had deeply connected members on the board.

What other "owned" and corrupted countries said is irrelevant. We are not globalists any longer.

My goodness Frank.....oops, that was close lol.

The ‘spineless’ republicans are the ones trying to put a stop to this insanity. House Democrats are abusing impeachment to try and get rid of Trump—before he gets elected again. *While* they accuse him of election election meddling.

It’s literally true that Democrats accuse Republicans of what they themselves are guilty of. It’s become an axiom. The only question is whether they realize they’re doing it or not.

Pelosi herself said impeachment should be bipartisan or not at all. Anyone who knows anything about how the founders felt about impeachment knows it’s true. And it’s that way for reasons that should be obvious. Turning impeachment into a partisan political weapon used against duly elected presidents subverts the will of voters.

In this case, 63 million of them.

Frankie seems to be triggered, STILL; even after his absence and return. :D

Hello Darth,

Nice job of playing dumb.

Personal Ignore Policy PIP: I like civil discourse. I will give you all the respect in the world if you respect me. Mouth off to me, or express overt racism, you will be PERMANENTLY Ignore Listed. Zero tolerance. No exceptions.

Fucking hypocrite.

What do you call a ‘trial’ where the accused has no one to testify to their innocence?

Sounds good to you so run with it.

I prefer facts. There is no ruling yet.

Hello dukkha,

no I am telling you to use quotes instead of ripping off lyrics as your own

Well if he believed what he said then he wouldn't sue me because that would not be enjoying the passage of time.

I certainly believe it. That's why I posted it. And I have already given him credit for exactly that line many times previously.

But I understand you're tied of arguing from a position of nonfact, and now you believe you have me on something so you're going with it.

All that does is indicate that your political arguments are frustrating to you.

I get it.

I would be pretty ashamed if I had to be on Trump's side.

I would want to divert the conversation to something else easier to argue.

It's OK. I understand.

i love the way you personally attack my motives, while you decry the same - how hypocritical of you.

I use song lyrics myself - they are pithy.
But it's not ethical to rip them off without attribution, never mind the legal niceties

IF that is what you think...and if you think that absolves Trump of the charges he faces...not much I can say.

How bad do you think this could be, Frank lol?

At worst, Trump is guilty of a ham-handed, lame and *inept* attempt at bribing another world leader to open an investigation. And in typical ‘Trump fashion’ the alleged crime never comes to fruition. Just like Trump is guilty of ‘obstructing’ Mullet without ever actually obstructing the investigation.

Trump sucks at crime just like he sucks at racism and Hitlerism.

At any rate, this is an absolute joke compared to abusing the FISA court and illegally surveilling a presidential campaign. Am I not right? Trump failed at what he’s been charged with [well, Trump has yet to be charged with anything] and no harm was done: Zelensky never opened an investigation on the Bidens. Whatever political damage Joe Biden incurs from his son’s relationship with Burisma—-it’s of his own making.

Since you and Politalker are seemingly concerned about election integrity, I’m curious as to why neither of you feel compelled to weigh in on FISA abuse threads.

Or have you and I just missed it?

I honestly think the attempted extortion merits an impeachment. Whether or not it warrants removal is up to the Senate...and it seems that decision has already been made. My personal opinion is that the attempted extortion is more serious than the charges against either Nixon or Clinton. So if the charges raised against either of those two were considered serious enough to consider being removed...the charges against Trump are serious enough also.

I acknowledge my considerations of these charges may be influenced by my very strong feelings of revulsion at Trump being the face of America on the world's stage.

I don't remember a time where I felt like this before.

But...we all have got to live through this period as best we can. If the coming election goes the way Trump admirers expect...we will endure four more years of this. If it goes the other way, I suspect things will not get appreciably better...and we will have to endure four years of what comes instead of "more Trump."

I'll do it the way I am doing it now...pissing and moaning on the Internet with interesting people and deriving what enjoyment I can from it all. Hell...I'm 83. I may not have to "endure" anything no matter who or what wins!

Well Frank, none of us are guaranteed to see tomorrow lol.

In your opinion, which is worse, what Trump is accused of; or, what some people *actually did* in deceiving the FISC court in order to surveil, illegally, on a presidential campaign?
