Hello dukkha,
since you are clueless.
The phrase 'passage of time' is not in quotes as it's a common phrase. "enjoy the passage of time" would get quotes or (sic) since it's being referred back to as as a specific phrase in our discussion.
But directly ripping off an entire line from lyric ( and I've seen you use it before) must have an attribution
Which is what I called you out on, and which you keep dodging instead of simply agreeing to and not doing it again
Look. We have to have an understanding here.
I don't talk about you, you don't talk about me. If we don't have that, there is no point in talking, OK? When you're writing a post to me, your danger words are 'You are ..." If you find yourself writing that in a post to me, that needs to be a warning signal. If you post it, we are not going to be talking any more. That's it, not kidding. Many posters have not been given another chance like this. I hope you heed these words wisely. Otherwise, well, it has been interesting; and I appreciate the insight into your thinking.
Trump is being impeached for good reason. What he did goes beyond what Nixon did.
Big difference. Back then we didn't have Fox News, and we didn't have two-bit media posers on the internet. All the channels had pretty much the same story.
Nixon tried to rig an election using domestic crooks.
Trump tried to rig an election by enticing foreign intervention. That's worse. Not only did he try to rig the election, his scheme involved bribing a foreign official with already appropriated money. And then he tried to cover it up, and then he did not cooperate with the House, which is tasked with overseeing his actions by the Constitution. He abused his power and he obstructed Congress. He is guilty. The only way history will look kindly on Trump in this is if history gets it wrong.
We have already seen so much evidence at this point there is little Trump could come up with to dispute it. The events happened. They benefited Trump. Only he was in a position to make these things happen. He is totally guilty and nothing can change that. A proper and just Senate trial at this point would be nothing but a formality. Nothing about Biden can justify what Trump did. If Trump had a defense he would have brought it by now. He has nothing which changes what we know. He's guilty. We didn't ask for the timing. This all went into high gear the moment the scandal broke.
It is ridiculous to think somebody who didn't like an election would wait until the term of office had mostly already been served to try to undo the election. That's DUMB. Makes no sense.
All of the Republican Senators took an oath of office. They swore allegiance to the Constitution, not the President. They also swore that their allegiance to the Constitution would be 'without purpose of evasion.' That means if they have to choose between Trump or the Constitution, they are supposed to be loyal to the Constitution.
President Trump tried to bring foreign intervention into our election. That violates the Constitution, which means Senators of any party are supposed to choose the Constitution over anybody who would try to rig our elections. Election-rigging is NOT in the Constitution.
If any Senator defends Trump and fails to recognize convincing evidence against him, then that is breaking their oath of office to support the Constitution.
