No Peak Yet. Up To 3000 Deaths Per Day Coming; 200,000 New Cases Per Day...

PA's numbers have been fluctuating over the last 2 weeks, but have been dropping the last few days. Most of our positive cases came from NY and NJ. My county and our local hospitals were well prepared.
As for tests, they opened the parking lot at the little Penguins hockey arena to test people. There needs to be an appointment, but no Dr. referral and they haven't yet come close to testing their daily limit.
PA's Physician General noted that the tables and projections are just that, although they do try to be as accurate as possible. No survivor numbers are out, to my knowledge.

Agree, PA, New Jersey and Connecticut are all part of the NYC outbreak. Pennsylvania shows about 54 K total cases, and about 50K active cases, so recovery is 4K - the number of deaths. At least that's what's being reported.

Our county is not one that is reopening, yet we have lower numbers than the ones who are. I'll do as they ask, it's temporary, but I'm retired and not unemployed because of this China virus.
My GF works at a hospital and has been back to work after the initial preparations the hospital made for China virus victims. Their positive tests are rather low compared to other counties.

He's just making up numbers while fear mongering. Note that several States are putting up border agents to stop people from fleeing New York.

Arrogant ass. People are losing businesses because of this mass hypochondria.

I don't trust DeSantis, but I think there is more pressure now to accurately report. Is that the reason for the larger death toll? Not sure, but either way, Florida appears to be going UP not DOWN. The same appears to be true in other states as well.

After the CDC mandated that ‘presumed death by COVID’ be added to the counts ‘accuracy’ went out the window.

Why would they do that? Be curious.

Judy Woodruff: "We do have these apparently two new grim forecasts today. I want to ask about the CDC report yet. We haven't seen all the numbers. The White House is saying it's not their numbers, but they are talking about, by June 1, 3,000 deaths a day. They're talking about up to 200,000 new cases a day.

This is — this is the wrong direction."

Laurie Garrett:

"Absolutely, Judy. And it's a huge, explosive growth they're predicting.

And it's basically — if you look at the distribution that they are imagining, it's really the Prairie states, the sort of Mississippi Valley, and the Deep South states.

And it seems, I think — though we don't have access to the raw data that they are working with, but it does seem to coincide with these outbreaks that have been occurring inside of meatpacking plants, nursing homes, Veterans Administration hospitals, that have claimed large numbers of workers in those facilities, but haven't yet generalized into the larger community.

And I think they're projecting that there will be generalization, that a typical — an infected meatpacker, for example, might then infect their family members, some of those family members may infect local storekeepers, and so on.

So I think they're imagining a pretty explosive set of growths, all in fairly small remote areas, and, in many cases, rural counties."

Explosive forecasts

The president said on April 16th that the USA has 'passed the peak.'

The president was terribly wrong.

We have not passed the peak yet. It is getting worse. The worst is yet to come.

And now it is moving from the cities into rural areas, moving from Democratic strongholds into Republican ones.

How will that affect our politics?

The U.S. Has Flattened the Curve. Next Up Is 'Squashing' It — and That's Not Going Well

We flattened the curve the peak is in reference to new cases these deaths are from old cases, every projection has been grossly exaggerated pseudoscience, get your facts straight.

You should at least try and conceal your ideological motives lol.

Has the CDC alerted all intensive care physicians that the actual virus is killing very few people? And that they should forgo intubation and aggressively treat the immune systems of COVID patients within hours of admission?

They are concerned with keeping the death toll down, right?

The CDC........*Insert sarcastic eye roll*

The CDC........*Insert sarcastic eye roll*

Deliver us from medical technocrats.

Think about how jacked up this is. We may be dealing with a virus that has an innate mortality rate of 0.0 something. People are dying because their own immune systems are turning on their bodies *in response* to the virus.

That is not a distinction without a difference. Apart from the severity in critical COVID patients, there is nothing ‘novel’ about immune system dysfunction and you can ask anyone who suffers from psoriasis, Chron’s or rheumatoid arthritis.

And it may well be that very few COVID patients would ever reach the critical stage—if they are treated properly at the outset.

I wonder how many people died, needlessly, because of the CDC guidelines that excluded steroid treatment in COVID patients. Think one of our ‘journalists’ could keep their minds off Trump long enough to ask Fauci that?

Or is that hoping for too much?

CDC are a bunch of asshats

No one is being forced to go back to work, Trumper.

If you respect the guidelines and feel safe, return to work.

Most states are now doing so, on a limited, moderate scale.

Other states and Democrat controlled cities are locking people up EG Michigan and Dallas.

The source of the virus from China is China. They lied about the source and their number of fatalities. They would not share data with our health professionals that might have mitigated their virus from China. They nailed shut the doors of those with the virus from China They did not stop flights out of China and the virus from China spread around the world.

China must be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths and the economic loss around the world.

Count on the far left loon apologists to defend China.

So does the WHO who echoed (and is still echoing) their propaganda.

Shelley Luther should immediately be released from jail. Locking her up is a misguided abuse of power, especially considering Dallas County released real criminals to “protect them from COVID-19.”
