No Peak Yet. Up To 3000 Deaths Per Day Coming; 200,000 New Cases Per Day...

All flu is a virus, dumbass. WHO called the Covid virus a flu. So did the U.S. government. For all effective purposes, it's a flu.

I very much doubt either the WHO nor anyone of any intelligence in the US Government called it a flu. Influenza is a very different virus in a very different family of viruses. It has some of the same effects on the body, but looks very different under a microscope, and has evolved differently for hundreds of millions of years.

Even the same effects on the body are somewhat superficial. Covid-19 infects all the tissues of the body, which is actually quite rare. Influenza usually only infects a few tissues in one or two organs. We assume people are recovering from Covid-19, but quite possibly it continues to lurk in the body even after supposed recovery. It is possible (but unlikely) the long term death rate from Covid-19 is similar to the long term death rate from HIV, basically 100%.

Hello Darth Omar,

Not true.

People who die from viral pneumonia die from symptoms directly caused by the virus. COVID causes a run away effect in the immune system which can damage several major organs—and this only happens in some people, for whatever reason. It explains why so many COVID infections are mild and not even noticed.

And we may have lost tens of thousands of people—unnecessarily, due to improper treatment. And that was due to WHO and the CDC excluding steroid regimens for treating critical COVID patients.

And that should outrage at least most people. It does me.

How do you know that the CDC and the WHO have not considered those treatments? It is logical to assume that they have looked at every possible treatment, and have systematically analyzed each one for it's efficacy. I think you are blaming them because the way this has hit the USA so hard is a disaster which could have been avoided with better leadership. The president is implicated in letting the country down badly, having inappropriate personal priorities which resulted in thousands of Americans dying needlessly.

Not true.

The COVID virus doesn’t affect the heart or the epithelial lining of blood vessels or cause multi-organ failure in critical patients.

A misfiring immune system does all of that.

Just like a compass always points to North it always comes back to Trump lol.

You’re consistent if nothing else.

How do I know the CDC didn’t consider steroid regimens? Because the Society of Critical Care Physicians says the CDC guidelines excluded the very treatments that would have saved tens of thousands of lives.

Wonder why nobody talks about ventilators and intubating critical COVID patients? Because it kills them. It kills them because intubation doesn’t do anything to address fundamental medical problem: calming the Cytokine Storm. How do you do that? With some very conventional and inexpensive treatments.

Is Fauci aware of this? I can’t tell that he is.

Active Cases rapidly approaching 1 million active cases of Americans with covid-19.

No peak yet.

Numbers still rising.

That doesn't mean the CDC didn't consider them and subsequently reject them for good scientific reason.

Physicians are one thing. Scientists are another. Both have their expertise.

I do not know how you came up with your numbers, but there really is no math that could get you there. We do not know how many people have gotten Covid-19 in America, but 1.3 million have tested positive. That would be about 0.4% or almost 200 times what you claim. 76k have died, about 0.024%, or almost 100 times your claim. I almost think you have forgotten to multiple by 100 to get percent, but even that would not explain your mistake of 200 times.

To put that into reference, there are about 800k Vietnam War veterans alive in America, and we lost about 58k. If we believe Night, there was no war in Vietnam.

Base rate fallacy. Totals are not rates.

There has been a drive to cut waste, and preparing for a pandemic that is not happening looks a lot like waste. The "new" people we got are trying to cut more waste, so they are even worse, not "better". It is tough to convince a new person of danger he has never heard of.

Most of that 17% is either private sector, or public sector going to individual healthcare. Pandemics are society wide healthcare of a type we are not used to. This is not just what government is best at, it is the very reason we have government. The real spending on infectious disease health is well below 0.1%. We got away with that as long as we could, and now we are paying the price.

There is no epidemic or pandemic. Fear mongering.

The triggering factor was Covid-19,
Speculation.
and the manner of death was Covid-19.
Speculation.
Picture a person with diabetes that would on average kill them in 20 years.
Don't have to. I personally know of one with type I diabetes that lived for 35 years. I also know of many people that had type II diabetes that no longer have it.
This has weakened their immune system, so when they get Covid-19, it grows out of control and kills them.
Nope. Diabetes does not weaken the immune system as long as it is properly cared for.
Without Covid-19, they would have lived another 20 years,
Leaping to conclusion. Circular argument.

There has been no magical treatment ever found for any virus. At best, you can cut the death rate in half. Forgetting about a vaccine and contact tracing would be a very bad idea.

The infection rate and death rate is going down rapidly all across the United States, and not a vaccine in sight!
Vaccines do not cure a viral infection. Testing does not prevent viral infections.

Coronaviruses are no more influenza viruses than bats are birds. They may have some superficial similarities, but they are very different creatures.
Tell the CDC and WHO then, they call corona viruses the flu.
So far, it has been somewhere between 10 to 100 times worse death rate than any flu we have seen in almost 100 years.
Corona virus IS a flu. Argument from randU fallacy.
When it is all over, it will probably be over 100 times worse, because remember it is still going.
It's basically all over. infection rates are dropping rapidly all across the United States. Fear mongering.
Lets take the Swine Flu of 2009. Less than 4k people died of it as a proximate cause, with somewhere between 61k and 80k statistically dying from it because it weakened them.
Right now, 76k people have died of Covid-19 as a proximate cause, and no one can even guess how many more have been weakened.
Argument from randU fallacy. The numbers are unknown. Using the CDC numbers in your example, Swine flu has killed more than Covid-19.
And right now is still early in the pandemic, many more will die.
Lie. Infection rates and death rates are dropping rapidly all across the United States, and not a vaccine in sight!
So it is 20 times worse right now, and will almost certainly get far worse. That is hardly mild.
Math error. 60k is not 20 times 80k.

Diseases hit hubs first, and then move out into the rest of the country. If we use NYC as a model of what will happen to America in general, that is 19.5k deaths out of 8 million people, so we could expect about 800k deaths.

You may argue that the rest of the country will not be hit as hard as NYC, but there is no reason to believe that this disease will not continue to spread until it gets to herd immunity. That means that the rest of the country will get it as badly while going up to enough people getting it. NYC is not done with the pandemic, so there will be many more deaths, which gets us a higher number. NYC may have had it more at once, which means that the rest of the country can treat it better. And NYC certainly had it earlier, so the rest of the country can treat it better with the hard won knowledge of NYC.

Anyway you cut it, we are looking at a lot more deaths. If this is a quarter done, we should count ourselves lucky.

Fear mongering. Speculation. Denial of CDC data.

I very much doubt either the WHO nor anyone of any intelligence in the US Government called it a flu.
History revisionism. Argument of ignorance fallacy.

All viruses are different.
Even the same effects on the body are somewhat superficial.
All viruses have different effects.
Covid-19 infects all the tissues of the body, which is actually quite rare.
Nope. It specifically targets the respiratory tract. Nothing else.
Influenza usually only infects a few tissues in one or two organs.
Compositional error fallacy.
We assume people are recovering from Covid-19, but quite possibly it continues to lurk in the body even after supposed recovery.
Fear mongering. It doesn't 'lurk'. The body has destroyed the virus. That's why you recovered.
It is possible (but unlikely) the long term death rate from Covid-19 is similar to the long term death rate from HIV, basically 100%.
Fear mongering. Covid-19 has killed very few otherwise healthy people, and never will.
The death rate from HIV is not 100%. The death rate from being born is 100%.

A misfiring immune system does all of that.

The immune system doesn't 'fire' anything. It does not attack your own tissue either. Learn how the lymphatic system works.
